NXT 2.0 attracted its largest 18-49 audience since March while going against Game 1 between the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics.
The May 17th edition of NXT 2.0 averaged 601,000 viewers and approximately 183,000 (0.14) in the 18-49 demographic, per Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics and Showbuzz Daily.
It was their largest audience in the 18-49 demo since March 29th, which was the go-home episode before the Stand & Deliver special over WrestleMania Weekend.
Overall viewership increased by 13 percent with the 18-49 demo growing by 41 percent over last week’s figures, which were the lowest in the history of the show on the USA Network.
The show doubled last week’s 18-34 audience and grew 50 percent among males 18-49. Females in the 18-49 demo were even with last week at 0.05, which is very low for the show.
NXT 2.0 finished #30 among cable originals while airing against Game 1 between the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics. The NBA game averaged 6,070,000 viewers and 2.22 in 18-49 on ESPN, which are gigantic numbers as the playoffs heat up.
NXT also aired against the Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Florida Panthers game, which averaged 1,323,000 viewers and 0.43 in 18-49 on TNT and the beginning of the NHL playoff game between St. Louis vs. Colorado.
In Canada, NXT returned to Sportsnet 360 and averaged approximately 54,000 viewers.
Tuesday’s episode was headlined by Tony D’Angelo against Santos Escobar and included an eight-minute overrun. It also featured the remaining opening round matches of the Women’s Breakout Tournament.
