NXT 2.0 falls against the NHL playoffs, ranks #37 on cable

NXT 2.0 aired against the NHL playoffs on Tuesday with the show falling to a near-record low in overall viewership.

The May 31st edition of the show averaged 534,000 viewers and approximately 157,000 (0.12) in the 18-49 demographic, according to Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics and Showbuzz Daily.

In overall viewership, it would rank as the second-lowest in NXT’s history on the USA Network (excluding the shows on Syfy) since September 2019. The lowest figure occurred four weeks ago when the May 10th edition averaged 533,000.

In the 18-49 demographic, it was tied with NXT’s fourth-lowest number in the demo for 2022. Within the key demo, females dropped by 22 percent and males declined by 11 percent.

The show dropped three percent in overall viewers and was down eight percent in 18-49 from last week’s episode, ranking #37 among cable originals. Cable was led by the Edmonton Oilers vs. Colorado Avalanche which averaged 1,818,000 viewers and 0.63 in 18-49 on TNT.

Adults 18-34 dropped by 14 percent while females 12-34 saw a big spike from 19,000 last week to 33,000.

In Canada, the show averaged approximately 33,000 viewers on Sportsnet 360 and didn’t finish among the top ten sports programs on Tuesday. The viewership average was identical to the week prior.

The show included Cameron Grimes taking on Nathan Frazer in the main event, and a Championship Summit involving members of Toxic Attraction and their opponents this Saturday at In Your House – Wendy Choo, Katana Chance, and Kayden Carter.
