NXT 2.0 notes: Breakker vs. Grimes at Great American Bash, North American Title bout on 6/21

Two title matches in the coming weeks, Troy 'Two Dimes' Donovan featured, Giovanni Vinci re-debuts, Nikki Lyons 'returning soon'

After Bron Breakker made quick work of Duke Hudson to retain the NXT Championship, he was approached by Cameron Grimes and Grimes ended up challenging Breakker to an NXT Title match at Great American Bash on Tuesday, July 5th. Breakker accepted the challenge.

Over the weekend, Troy ‘Two Dimes’ Donovan was released from WWE due to a policy issue. He was present on tonight’s taped edition of NXT 2.0 alongside Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo and Tony D’Angelo. During their on-screen segment, D’Angelo was able to get himself a shot at Carmelo Hayes’ North American Championship on 6/21.

Due to suffering a partially torn MCL, Nikkita Lyons had to be removed from the NXT Breakout tournament field. A vignette aired on tonight’s show promoting that she is ‘returning soon’.

Giovanni Vinci, the former ‘Fabian Aichner’ re-debuted and picked up a win over Guru Raaj.

Joe Gacy’s druids, The Dyad, made their in-ring debut and they defeated Dante Chen and Javier Bernal. The Dyad wrestled with their hoods on for the entirety of the match.

In addition to the North American Championship match between Tony D’Angelo and champion Carmelo Hayes, the following has been set for the 6/21 NXT 2.0:

  • Von Wagner vs. Brooks Jensen
  • Solo Sikoa vs. Grayson Waller
  • Lash Legend vs. Alba Fyre

To open the program, The Creed Brothers (Julius & Brutus Creed) bested Malik Blade and Edris Enofé to retain the NXT Tag Team Titles.
