Dates set for Keiji Muto’s retirement tour, last match as ‘The Great Muta’ taking place in January

Details about Keiji Muto's retirement tour have been announced. His first match on the tour is on July 16th against Kaito Kiyomiya

The road to Keiji Muto’s retirement from in-ring competition.

At CyberFight Festival, Keiji Muto made the announcement that is he is opting to retire from in-ring competition and his last match is taking in the spring of 2023. He’ll have matches leading up to that final bout and that road was mapped out via a press conference that Pro Wrestling NOAH held on June 17th.

Muto’s first match of the tour is taking place July 16th at Nippon Budokan against Kaito Kiyomiya. They have wrestled three times in the past two years and Muto is 2-0 over Kiyomiya. When they met in the N-1 Victory tournament, their match went to a time limit draw.

The July 16th bout will be followed by Muto’s match on September 25th and then October 30th. In addition to those dates, January 22nd, 2023 is when Muto will compete as ‘The Great Muta’ for the last time.

CyberFight Director Narihiro Takeda stated during the press conference that they are looking for the largest venue they can get for Muto’s final match.
