MLW Battle Riot IV – 6/23/22

Melrose Ballroom – Queens, NY

  • Bandido and the Von Erichs not medically cleared for tonight
  • Cesar Duran started the show and said the winner of the Battle Riot won’t fight Alex Hammerstone as he’ll be fighting his Luchadors. Hammerstone came out to fight two of Duran’s henchmen
  • 01: Hammerstone beat Cesar Duran’s Henchmen in 30 seconds with the Nightmare Pendulum.
  • Richard Holliday came out after and hit him with a steel chair and kept attacking him before making out with Alicia Atout.
  • Duran announces that Hammerstone’s match tonight with Holliday will Falls Count Anywhere
  • 02: KC Navarro def. Mini Abismo Negro in 4:04 with the Jesus Piece
  • Jacob Fatu was making his way out and got attacked from behind by Real1 (nZo). Real1 said if Fatu isn’t soft he will fight him tonight in which he did.
  • 03: Jacob Fatu def. Real1 by DQ in 2:03 after giving him a low blow then followed that by kicking the referee down low as well. Security tried to separate them but Fatu dove off the top rope as Real1 got out of the way.
  • 04: MLW National Openweight Championship: Davey Richards def. Alex Kane (c) (w/ Mr. Thomas) at 12:52 to become NEW MLW National Openweight Champion
  • 05: Scarlett Bordeaux def. Clara Carreras at 1:45
  • Taya Valkyrie went to the stage for an interview but got attacked from behind by Brittany Blake. They brawled until officials separated them.
  • 06: MLW World Heavyweight Championship Falls Count Anywhere Match: Alex Hammerstone (c) def. Richard Holliday by submission at 18:49 with the Torture Rack
  • EJ Nduka was ringside scouting the match and interrupted Hammerstone’s interview after and said he deserves an opportunity at the title and Hammerstone agreed and as he turned his back Nduka attacked him with his own tag team title. Nduka took him inside the ring and put Hammerstone through a table with a spine buster . Nduka’s tag partner Calvin Tankman was nowhere in sight.
  • 07: MLW World Middleweight Championship: Myron Reed (c) (w/ Mr. Thomas) def. Lince Dorado, Arez & La Estrella in a four-way at 6:54, pinning Estrella after hitting a double cutter off the ropes. Reed cut a promo after calling out anybody and it doesn’t matter if they are from AAA or Dragon Gate.
  • They announce that MLW action figures will be coming soon.
  • 08: Samoan Swat Team (Lance Anoa’i & Juicy Finau) def. Los Maximos (Joel Maximo & Jose Maximo) at 3:14 after Anoa’i hit a top rope splash
  • They had a special presentation awarding The King of All Fans award to Vladimir Abouzeide. Felt very special and he got a great reaction and got emotional during his acceptance.
  • 09: Killer Kross (w/ Scarlett Bordeaux) def. Matt Cross at 4:38
  • 10: MLW Featherweight Championship: Taya Valkyrie (c) def. Brittany Blake by submission at 6:50
  • Taya was being interviewed until she got interrupted by a video from Sexy Star II of AAA that says she is coming soon to MLW and Taya said she’ll be waiting for her.

  • Jacob Fatu eliminates Real1 at 48:48 to win the Battle Riot
  • Some notes on the match; Nduka eliminated his own tag team champion partner in Tankman then Tankman yanked Nduka out. Microman got a huge reaction. Sami Callihan came out as a surprise and got a big reaction.
  • Real1 eliminated Microman to nuclear heat. Savio Vega came out as Kwang then as himself. The former Harland, Parker Boudreaux came out as a nice surprise. The final four were Kross, Real1, Fatu and Callihan.
  • After the match, Fatu celebrated with The Samoan Swat Team and drank beer.
