Ford says there is a lot more to accomplish as a member of The Street Profits.

Heading into WWE SummerSlam on July 30th, The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) have the opportunity to get their fourth tag team title victory in WWE when they meet The Usos (Jimmy & Jey Uso) for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles.

To promote the match, Montez Ford was interviewed for Sports Illustrated’s ‘This Week in Wrestling’ column. He was asked about the conversations about him breaking into the singles division. Ford said he’s not ready to shift his focus to that and feels there is a lot left to accomplish as a member of The Street Profits.

The difference between singles wrestling and being part of a tag team is that all the attention is on you. I’m not ready to shift my focus yet. There is still a lot left for me to attain with Dawkins. SummerSlam is a huge opportunity. We want to make that night special.

As of this writing, there are eight matches on the bill for SummerSlam and those are listed as followed:

  • Undisputed WWE Universal Championship — Last Man Standing Match: Roman Reigns (c) (w/ Paul Heyman) vs. Brock Lesnar
  • Pat McAfee vs. Happy Corbin
  • WWE United States Championship: Bobby Lashley (c) vs. Theory
  • Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships: The Usos (Jimmy & Jey Uso) (c) vs. The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins)
