Coffin Match: Brody King vs. Darby Allin

As Brody King was making his entrance, Darby Allin showed up in the dark and started attacking Brody with his tack-covered skateboard. Darby started digging the tacks in Brody’s forehead and busted him open. They went to the outside where Brody tossed Darby into the timekeeper’s table and broke his skateboard in half before Darby started attacking the bloody Brody. They go back inside the ring where Darby hits an avalanche Code Red. They continue to fight on the outside with Brody tossing Darby into the barricades with the last one sending him into the crowd as they go to picture-in-picture.

When we come back, Darby is outside on a table as Brody goes to dive on him but crashes into the table as Darby moves out of the way. As Darby goes to tease a dive onto Brody, the lights go out. When they come back on, Malakai Black and Buddy Matthews are outside with Brody. Darby goes to dive anyway but gets tripped up by Julia Hart. Matthews gets in the ring and takes out Darby with Murphy’s Law. Matthews sets up a table in the corner with Darby on it, as Brody hits a cannonball to Darby through the table. The crowd starts chanting for Sting as Malakai sets up for the move formerly known as Black Mass. Matthews goes to open up the coffin, but Sting gets out of it and starts attacking Matthews with the bat. Sting is showing face paint representing the mist he received in his eye and gets in Malakai’s face, just for Malakai to drop his bat and leave the ring. As Brody is on the outside getting checked on, Darby hits him with a tope suicida. Sting and Malakai go face to face on top of the stage as Brody continues attacking Darby with a body slam on the steel steps. They start fighting on the apron, but Darby gets a chain and starts choking out Brody until he passes out and falls right into the coffin to end the match.

Winner: Darby Allin at 13:27

The FYI Belt

We go to Jon Moxley backstage who says since everybody is coming at him with the ‘interim’, he calls the title the FYI belt. This championship is about pain and how much you can endure. For over two decades we have watched the last survivor of the Hart Dungeon, Chris Jericho and his fighting spirit on full display. Tonight, he’s going to test it and he’s going to push it to its breaking point and tell Jericho if his fighting spirit doesn’t break, his body will.

Guaran-F’n-Tee

After the commercial, we hear Chris Jericho who says after two and a half years, tonight he takes back what’s rightfully his and becomes the new AEW World Champion. Jericho says Moxley wanted to face the Lionheart, but be careful what you wish for as Stu Hart was vicious and violent, and the pain he put him through he didn’t want to think of again until tonight. You can fix a tooth and heal a cut, but tonight he will twist, turn and stretch the shit out of Moxley tonight and tonight Jericiho will be the next AEW World Champion and he guaran-f’n-tee’s it.

Trios Tournament Brackets

They announce next week’s Dynamite will be presented by HBO and the Game of Thrones spin-off House of Dragon and announce the brackets for the AEW World Trios Championship Tournament;

  • House of Black vs. Dark Order
  • Trustbusters vs. Best Friends

The finals will be taking place at AEW All Out on September 4th.

Tornado Tag Match: Andrade El Idolo & Rush (w/ Jose the Assistant) vs. Lucha Bros. (Penta El Zero Miedo & Rey Fenix) (w/ Alex Abrahantes)

All four men go at it, to start the match until Penta El Zero Miedo & Rush are left standing. Commentary mentions how Penta dropped the ‘Oscuro’ name and reverted back to his original name. Penta gets a two-count on Rush after hitting Made in Penta. Rush and Andrade end up hitting in stereo dives to the outside as they go to picture-in-picture.

When we come back, Penta fights off Rush with a DDT as Rey Fenix dives off the ropes with a hurricanrana on Rush. Penta hits a backstabber on Andrade for one count, before a casadora splash with Fenix for a two count. Fenix goes for a frog splash, but Andrade puts his knees up and gets a two count. Andrade tries to hit El Idolo DDT on Fenix, but Penta breaks it up before Rush breaks him up with a dropkick. Andrade hits double knees to Penta in the corner, before Fenix gets caught off the ropes into a powerbomb by Rush, who then gets taken out by a cutter from Penta. Penta takes out Andrade with a Destroyer on the apron, then tries the Fear Factor to Rush on the apron. Fenix tries to join in but Andrade knocks him off the ropes, as Rush fights off Penta. Rush and Andrade double team Fenix before Rush ties Penta onto the ropes by his mask. Penta takes his mask off to break up a pin, as Andrade tosses his extra mask into the crowd. Jose the Assistant on the outside takes out Alex Abrahantes. The crowd starts chanting to ‘throw it back’ to the mask, as Rush hits the Bull’s Horns to Fenix followed by El Idolo by Andrade for the pin.

Winners: Andrade El Idolo & Rush by pinfall at 14:02

Will You Be Our Trios Partner?

We go to the Young Bucks backstage that go into the Dark Order locker room as John Silver tells Brandon Cutler to stick around for a BTE bit they have to film after. Nick Jackson thanks Adam Page for helping them out last week and ‘word on the street is those guys won’t be sticking around for a long time’, talking about The Undisputed Elite. Matt Jackson tells Page that he got selfish and he says sorry to him and this building is special as it’s where Page won the world title and he’s upset he couldn’t congratulate him. Matt continues and says that they might be bad people but when they are around Page he brings the good out of them and asks him to join their team and reunite the Hung Bucks next week. Page said he would love to, but he can’t and they didn’t congratulate him when he won the world title, but the Dark Order did. The Trios Tournament is the Dark Order’s chance, and he won’t be in the tournament at all but in the Dark Order’s corner so he can’t compete and says sorry to the Bucks and their partner should be someone who never turned their back on him. Cutler says how he thinks Page was talking about him, as Matt Jackson tells him to shut up and turn off the camera.

Luchasaurus vs. Anthony Henry (w/ JD Drake)

Jungle Boy joins commentary for this match. Anthony Henry tries to attack right away, but gets tossed into the corner followed by a German Suplex. Henry tries to fight back, but Luchasaurus hits a headbutt and the Fossilizer for the quick pin and win.

Winner: Luchasaurus by pinfall at 41 seconds

We cut to Christian Cage backstage who says he was going to come out there and slap the shit out of Jungle Boy’s headset but the people in Minneapolis don’t deserve to see him in person as he’s having too much fun. Jungle Boy quickly runs to the back to confront him, but gets held back by security. Luchasaurus fights off the security before headbutting Pat Buck.

The Word of the Redeemer

We get a video of Miro saying that Malakai Black dragged him into the dark as all the devils are here. Julia Hart comes into the frame and tells Miro to embrace the darkness and join. Miro tells her there’s only one woman who can touch him and it’s not him. Miro tells her to go back and tell the House of Black he accepts their offer and this is the word of the redeemer.

Nobody Says No to The Factory

Mark Henry is backstage interviewing Powerhouse Hobbs and asks if he’s done with Ricky Starks. QT Marshall and The Factory interrupt and say they will finish off Starks tonight because ‘nobody says no to the Factory’ as Hobbs tells him not to let QT’s problem become his.

FTR Returns to Help Wardlow

Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt & Satnam Singh make their way to the ring where Dutt says they did the unthinkable to Wardlow as Singh chokeslamming him right through the table before saying they are nowhere done with him. Lethal tells Wardlow to defend the TNT Championship against him one more time or they come find him and take it. Wardlow comes out and says tonight he is kicking all three of their asses but before he can make it to the ring, FTR comes out to even the odds. They get in the ring, but Lethal, Dutt and Singh go to the outside where Dutt starts looking under the ring for something. Lethal enters the ring just to get taken out.

I’m Going To Choke You Out!

Tony Schiavone is backstage with the Jericho Appreciation Society as Matt Menard says history will be made tonight and Jon Moxley’s run comes to an end. Angelo Parker talks about the spread tonight including fondue and says they have a little bit of the bubbly. Daniel Garcia says Bryan Danielson should appreciate him for putting to sleep and sending him on vacation because he’s a Dragon Slayer. Anna Jay sees Rebel on the side and chokes her out.

Ricky Starks vs. Aaron Solo

The Factory stands on the entranceway as Ricky Starks makes his entrance going right after Aaron Solo to start the match. Cole Karter makes his way down to the ring and trips Starks, just to get ejected. Starks tries the Rochambeau but Solo hurricanranas his way out. Starks bounces right back and hits the spear for the pin.

Winner: Ricky Starks by pinfall at 2:14

Nick Comoroto runs into the ring with a chair, but Starks takes him out with a spinebuster. Starks tries the Rochambeau, but Solo takes him out from behind. Starks is able to fight them both off and runs away. We cut to Powerhouse Hobbs backstage who destroys a television.

Past Your Bedtime

Lexy Nair is backstage with the Gunn Club as Billy Gunn is yelling at his sons for losing the match that he made famous. Stokely Hathaway comes into the picture and tells Billy it’s past his bedtime and tries to hand a card to Austin and Colten Gunn, but Billy tells him to go away and he makes them a match for Rampage. Danhausen comes into the frame and tells Austin they will see him Friday night, but Austin tells him not to touch him.

Saying No To Ari Daivari

Tony Schiavone is with the Best Friends, but they get interrupted by The Trust Busters. Ari Daivari says he wants to bring Orange Cassidy to superstardom but has to get rid of Trent Beretta & Chuck Taylor. Cassidy says the answer is no so Daivari says he will find out what happens to people who say no to Ari Daivari.

AEW TBS Championship: Jade Cargill (c) (w/ Stokely Hathaway & Kiera Hogan) vs. Madison Rayne

Right away, Jade Cargill pushes Madison Rayne down and starts kicking away. Rayne fights back with a dropkick off the ropes sending Jade to the outside. Rayne takes Jade out with a hurricanrana, but gets distracted by Kiera Hogan on the outside as she makes her way back in and gets taken out with a spear as they go to picture-in-picture.

When we come back, Jade hits a suplex for a two count as we see The Baddies in the crowd. Commentary mentions how Kris Statlander is out with an injury and Toni Storm has taken over the #1 in the ranking. Rayne fights back and hits Jade with a DDT for a two-count. Kiera gets on the apron, but Jade accidentally kicks her off as Rayne ducks and rolls up Jade for a two. Jade comes back with a pump kick and the Jaded for the pin and the win.

Winner: Jade Cargill by pinfall at 7:47, to retain

Athena, who was disguised as a Baddie ringside, gets in the ring and chases off Jade.

ThunderStorm is Brewing

Tony Schiavone is backstage with Thunder Rosa and Toni Storm and says how Toni is now the #1 contender and that Kris Statlander is injured. Rosa says this is not what she wants but it is what it is. Storm says next week she will be in action and will keep the momentum going but her main goal is to one day be the AEW Women’s Champion. Rosa wishes her good and says they will talk some other time.

AEW Interim World Championship Match: Jon Moxley (c) vs. Chris Jericho

Chris Jericho came out in the full Lionheart gimmick, with his look, gear, hair, and music. Jericho starts the match giving Jon Moxley the middle finger, who gives one right back. They go back and forth with a bit of offense until they take it to the mat where Jericho is trying to stretch out Moxley. They go into a chop exchange before Jericho brings Moxley down and tears Moxley’s earring out of his ear as the crowd chants ‘you sick fuck’. Jericho takes Moxley off the apron with a dropkick as we go to picture-in-picture.

When we come back, Jericho is on the attack as Moxley is all bloody. Jericho hits a Lionsault for a two count, as Moxley goes to put on an armbar before putting on the ankle lock. They go to the top rope where Jericho hits a hurricanrana. Jericho starts twisting Moxley on the ring post and puts on a figure four, a la Bret Hart. Aubrey Edwards breaks it up, as they go back into the ring and Moxley puts on the Crossface. Jericho turns it around and puts on the Walls of Jericho as they go back into picture-in-picture.

The move was on the entire time, as when we come back, Moxley escapes and dodges a flying Jericho springboarding off the top ropes and falls on the outside. Moxley quickly joins him with a diving double sledge before mounting Jericho with punches. Back inside, Moxley dives again but Jericho catches him with a Codebreaker for a two count. Aubrey Edwards leaves the ring to go clean up as Sammy Guevara tries to toss the bat to Jericho in the ring but overshoots it a bit. Jericho pushes Moxley into the exposed turnbuckle and hits him with the Judas Effect, but Moxley kicks out at two. Jericho grabs the title, but Moxley sends him into the exposed corner and puts on the Bulldog Choke while punching Jericho’s bloody forehead. Jericho reverses and puts on the Liontamer. Moxley escapes and puts on a sleeper hold as Jericho eventually taps out.

As Jericho is about to take out Moxley with his title, CM Punk makes his way out and attacks the Jericho Appreciate Society. Punk and Moxley end up being the only two left in the ring and go face to face. Moxley flips Punk off, bumps into him, and leaves the ring.
