Drew McIntyre comments on report of his back injury, says he’s been carrying people for the past several years

Drew McIntyre's segment leads to him being confronted by Kevin Owens and them competing in singles competition

McIntyre’s comments lead to him facing Kevin Owens.

On the lead up to his Undisputed WWE Universal Title match at Clash at the Castle, SmackDown’s Drew McIntyre appeared on the 8/15 episode of Raw. During his segment, he addressed the report about him dealing with a back injury.

PWInsider reported that McIntyre was pulled from house shows due to the injury. The report noted that McIntyre could have powered through it, but was pulled as a precautionary measure as he is scheduled to have a world title match in a few weeks.

McIntyre stated that the report is true and added that it’s because he’s been carrying the weight of 20 men on his back. This led to an exchange between Kevin Owens and McIntyre, during which Owens said it may be time for him to bring back ‘The Prizefighter’ persona.

Their eventual match resulted in a disqualification as The Usos (Jimmy & Jey Uso) ambushed McIntyre.

Following tonight’s Raw, POST Wrestling is going live with an episode of Rewind-A-Raw.
