Goro Tsurumi passes away at the age of 73

At the age of 73 years old, Goro Tsurumi passed away. His relatives confirmed that he passed on August 26th

Tsurumi passed on the 26th of August.

At the age of 73 years old, 41-year veteran Goro Tsurumi passed away. He passed from low blood pressure and sepsis on August 26th.

His relatives relayed the news through Takashi Sasaki, owner of the ‘FREEDOMS’ promotion in Japan. Tsurumi had also been dealing with leg ulcers, hypertension, diabetes and heart failure.

Tsurumi began his career in pro wrestling in 1971 as a part of International Wrestling Enterprise. The following year, he debuted for All Japan.

The last match he wrestled in was in 2012 for Union Pro Wrestling which was an independent promotion revived by DDT. CyberFight President Sanshiro Takagi posted a tweet about Tsurumi’s passing:
