WWE Clash at the Castle Report: Reigns retains, Solo Sikoa assists, Dominik attacks Rey, Imperium reunited

KICKOFF SHOW: Madcap Moss & Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) vs. Alpha Academy (Chad Gable & Otis) & Austin Theory

Chad Gable and Angelo Dawkins started the match with arm drags, as Montez Ford quickly tagged in and got caught in an ankle lock by Gable. Austin Theory comes in and they double-team on Ford knocking him to the outside. Otis tags in and works on Ford, until Gable comes back in. Ford fights them off with a double DDT and makes the hot tag to Madcap Moss who takes Theory and Gable down with shoulder blocks and gets the crowd into it. Dawkins comes in and takes Theory down for a two-count. Gable comes in and hits a German Suplex on Dawkins, but Moss breaks up the pin attempt. Moss picks up Otis and knocks him out of the ring with a fall-away slam, but gets knocked out himself by Gable. Gable tries to German Suplex Ford on the outside but Dawkins catches Gable on his shoulders as Ford runs and hits a blockbuster from inside the ring to the outside on everybody else. Ford followed with From the Heavens on Gable for the pin and the win in a really fun match that the crowd was behind.

Winners: Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford) & Madcap Moss by pinfall at 6:31

Bianca Belair, Alexa Bliss & Asuka vs. Damage Control (Bayley, Dakota Kai & IYO SKY)

Bayley, Dakota Kai, and IYO SKY came out with a remixed Bayley theme with rapping, and with ‘Damage Control’ graphics as Bayley and Bianca Belair started the match as the crowd already started singing for Bayley. All six women come in and start brawling until Belair starts taking control over Bayley but gets taken to the outside by Kai and SKY. They all go back inside where the baby faces hit a triple suplex followed by a moonsault on all three heels by Belair. Michael Cole referenced Mio Shirai and the Three Tails stable she had with Asuka and IYO in Japan. IYO and Asuka go at it with a couple of pin attempts, until IYO kicks her down and tags in Kai. Alexa Bliss tags in and takes out Bayley on the outside but gets sent into the barricade by a kick from Kai. Damage Control stays in… control, with them keeping Bliss in their corner. Bliss tries a comeback, but Kai kicks her in the corner for a two-count. Bliss tries to make the hot tag to Bianca, but they knock her off the apron and send her into the barricade, so instead Bliss tags out to Asuka who knocks IYO down with a missile dropkick. All six come in and go at it until IYO kicks Asuka off and tags in Bayley as they hit a running clothesline combo for a two-count. Belair tags in and takes Bayley down with a spinebuster followed by a standing moonsault for a two. Bayley and Bianca go at it on the top rope, as Asuka and Alexa join in and superplex Bayley off of Belair’s back. IYO follows that with a moonsault to the outside, as Belair press slams Kai from the top rope into a fall away slam. Belair comes back with a powerbomb but misses off the top rope as Kai hits the Scorpion Kick. Belair dodges Kai in the corner and tries the KOD, as IYO breaks it up. Bayley holds Belair in the corner by her braid as Kai kicks her. Bayley hits the Rose Plant on Belair, followed by the top rope moonsault from IYO as Bayley pins Belair for the win.

Winners: Damage Control (Bayley, IYO SKY & Dakota Kai) by pinfall at 18:45

We see footage of Tyson Fury and Drew McIntyre meeting up backstage then cut to Tyson Fury sitting ringside. They show highlights of SummerSlam 1992 and show Bret Hart and Davey Boy Smith’s family sitting ringside.

WWE Intercontinental Championship: Gunther (w/ Ludwig Kaiser & Giovanni Vinci) (c) vs. Sheamus (w/ Ridge Holland & Butch)

Ludwig Kaiser, introduces Giovanni Vinci with them before bringing out Gunther for an Imperium reunion. Kaiser, Vince, Butch & Ridge Holland start brawling in and out of the ring as Sheamus and Gunther stare down with Butch hitting a top rope moonsault on the outside before they all head to the back. The bell rings and Gunther and Sheamus go at it. They take it to the outside before Sheamus is able to kick Gunther down on the inside, heads to the top rope, and gets chopped off hard to the floor by Gunther where Gunther slams Sheamus onto the steel steps. Back inside, they get into a chop exchange, with Gunther trapped Sheamus against the ropes as Sheamus’ chest becomes instantly red. Gunther puts on a Boston Crab until the crowd starts chanting for Sheamus. Gunther chops Sheamus down hard a couple of times before they take it back outside where Gunther sends Sheamus into the commentary table. Sheamus hits the 10 Beats of the Bodhrán to Gunther on the apron then against the barricade followed by a top rope knee drop. These two are absolutely killing each other. They start punching and chopping each other which ends with Gunther hitting a German Suplex, but Sheamus comes back with a running knee for a close two count. Gunther puts on a sleeper hold and tries a powerbomb, but Sheamus counters with White Noise for a two count. Sheamus sets up for the Brogue Kick, but Gunther dodges, and hits a drop kick and a power bomb for a two count. Gunther heads to the top rope, but Sheamus stops him and hits the Celtic Cross from the ropes, and gets a two count. Sheamus tries the Brogue Kick but his back gives out, as Gunther hits another powerbomb but falls down himself and fails to cover. They both get up as the crowd erupts and Gunther hits a vicious lariat for the pin.

Winner: Gunther by pinfall at 19:35, to retain

Sheamus gets a standing ovation after the match.

We see UFC Welterweight Champion Leon Edwards sitting in the crowd.

WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship: Liv Morgan (c) vs. Shayna Baszler

Right away they take it to the mat with Liv Morgan escaping an armbar attempt from Shayna Baszler for a pin attempt. They take it to the corner where Baszler snaps Morgan’s arm and sends her to the outside where Baszler sends her into the barricade. Inside, Baszler continues working on Morgan’s left arm and gets taken down with a clothesline for a two count. Morgan jumps off the top rope but gets hit with a knee as Bazsler gets a two-count. Baszler goes to stomp on Morgan’s arm but she escapes and puts on a Triangle Choke with punches that she turns into an armbar. Baszler turns it into a pin attempt, but Morgan reverses it right back into the armbar. Baszler is able to stomp her way out and hits a reverse gut wrench suplex and another knee for a two count. They start fighting on the top rope where Morgan turns it into a power bomb for a two count but Baszler traps on the Kirifuda Clutch as Morgan rolls over into the ropes to break it up. They go back and forth until Morgan hits the Code Breaker and Oblivion for the pin.

Winner: Liv Morgan by pinfall at 11:01, to retain

They show Adrian Street and Miss Linda sitting in the crowd.

Rey Mysterio & Edge (w/ Dominik Mysterio) vs. Judgment Day (Finn Balor & Damian Priest) (w/ Rhea Ripley)

Edge comes out wearing a Lucha mask, and gets a huge reaction as the crowd sings along to his theme song. Finn Balor and Rey Mysterio start the match fast with Mysterio getting the advantage until Damian Priest tags in. The crowd cheers for Edge, who gets tagged in to a big pop. Edge and Mysterio get the upper hand with Edge powerbombing Mysterio onto Balor and Priest on the outside. Balor and Priest start double teaming Mysterio with Balor getting a two count followed by a German Suplex, teasing the Three Amigos as the crowd rains down boos. Mysterio tries to make the hot tag, but Priest runs in and knocks Edge off the apron. They start fighting on the outside, where Priest and Mysterio end up on top of the barricade, before Mysterio knocks Priest down onto it. Mysterio crawls back in to try and tag in Edge, but Priest is able to stop him at the last second. Mysterio kicks him off and makes the hot tag as the crowd explodes. Edge takes Priest and Balor out, hitting the Edgecution on Balor as Mysterio takes out Priest on the outside. Edge hits the 619, followed by the West Coast Pop but Priest is able to break up the count. Mysterio and Priest fight on the apron as Edge spears Priest from inside to the outside. They all start brawling until Dominik trips up Edge, which allows Mysterio to hit the 619 followed by a Spear from Edge to get the pin and the win.

Winners: Edge & Rey Mysterio by pinfall at 12:35

After the match Edge is celebrating with the Mysterios, but Dominik kicks Edge down low. As Rey is trying to calm down his son, Dominik takes his dad down with a clothesline. Judgment Day cheers him on. After they leave, Rey and Edge help each other up.

They announce today’s attendance at Principality Stadium at 62,296 as Michael Cole makes a great joke about the downfall of the New York Yankees.

Matt Riddle vs. Seth Rollins

Matt Riddle comes out with Patrick Star-inspired gear while Seth Rollins looks like he’s inspired by the Devil from Powerpuff Girls. If Randy Orton returns with SpongeBob Squarepants gear, I will lose it. They go at it right away with Riddle hitting a couple of gut-wrench suplexes. Riddle ends up dumping Rollins to the outside, but Rollins catches him and powerbombs him into the barricade. The crowd chants along to Rollins’ theme throughout the match as Rollins stops Riddle off the top rope, puts him in the Tree of Woe position, and hits a double stomp for a two count. They fight it out in the corner, with Riddle catching Rollins and tossing him over onto the apron where he hits him with a kick and hits the Floating Bro off the second rope to the outside. Riddle stops a Pedigree attempt, and hits ‘Bro to Sleep’ and a knee for a two count. Riddle tries another Floatin Bro, but Rollins puts his knees up. Riddle dodges the stomp, as they go back and forth and Riddle traps on the Triangle Choke, but Rollins fights out and hits Bro Derek for a two count. Rollins heads to the top rope but misses the Phoenix Splash. Rollins tries the stomp again, but Riddle stops him with a knee and hits a German Suplex. Rollins comes back and hits a Pedigree for a two count. Rollins starts talking trash calling Riddle a loser and talking about his ex-wife and kids, but that only pumps up Riddle. Rollins hits the Orton draping DDT to Riddle as the crowd starts booing Rollins then goes back to singing his song. Rollins starts teasing the RKO but Riddle catches and traps him in a rear naked choke followed by elbows to the back of the head. They fight outside with Riddle slamming Rollins onto the commentary table, grabs a chair but Rollins runs back into the ring and hits Riddle with the stomp. Rollins goes to the second rope and hits another stomp and gets the pin and the win.

Winner: Seth Rollins by pinfall at 17:22

They show footage from earlier today with Roman Reigns and Tyson Fury talking backstage, as well as Karrion Kross and Scarlett sitting in the crowd.

Undisputed WWE Universal Championship: Roman Reigns (c) vs. Drew McIntyre

They show a video package for Drew McIntyre over his old Broken Dreams theme song followed by McIntyre coming out to a big reaction. As Roman Reigns comes to the ring alone, they say that The Usos and Sami Zayn are medically unavailable after being taken out on SmackDown and we haven’t seen Paul Heyman since he got put through a table at SummerSlam. During the introductions, the crowd is fully behind McIntyre. Big fight feel for this one. They take the first couple of minutes doing minimal work as the crowd just soaks all this in. McIntyre picks it up by knocking Reigns to the outside with a shoulder block. Reigns tries to tell the crowd to be quiet as he takes control of McIntyre in the corner with punches, but McIntyre comes back with ten punches in the corner and knocks Reigns to the outside with a clothesline. As they start fighting outside of the ring, McIntyre gets into Karrion Kross’ face, but Reigns attacks McIntyre from behind. McIntyre slips on the outside, but makes his way back in before the 10 count for Reigns to jump on him and attack him. They back and forth for a while each trying to suplex the other that eventually ends with Reigns punching McIntyre down. Reigns grabs a microphone and tells Cardiff to acknowledge him, but gets hit quickly after with the Glasgow Kiss. They head to the top rope, but McIntyre is able to knock Reigns off who teases the Claymore Kick, but Reigns escapes to the outside. McIntyre is able to hit a spinebuster inside for a two-count. Reigns comes back with a Rock Bottom for a two. McIntyre goes for the Claymore Kick, but Reigns stops him with the Superman Punch for a two-count. They go back and forth with Reigns hitting the spear and getting a two count, as the crowd is on their feet. Reigns catches McIntyre and puts him in a Guillotine, as McIntyre keeps trying to fight out of it eventually tossing Reigns into the ring post, spilling onto the outside where McIntyre spears Reigns into the barricade. McIntyre tosses Reigns back inside and goes for the Claymore Kick, but Reigns hits another spear for a two-count. Reigns gets into Charles Robinson face to face about that being a three count and teases hitting him, just for McIntyre hitting Reigns behind with a Claymore Kick, knocking Robinson to the outside. Austin Theory’s music hits and he runs out to the ring with a referee. As Theory goes to cash in, he gets knocked out by Tyson Fury who was ringside. Reigns enters the ring with a chair, but McIntyre knocks him down with a Claymore Kick, but still, only gets a two. They slowly get up and start trading punches before speeding them up, and trade a Superman punch, Glasgow Kick and McIntyre hits a spear followed by the Claymore Kick, but as he’s about to get the three count, Solo Sikoa in a hoodie pulls the referee out. Solo distracts McIntyre as Roman hits another spear and gets the pin.

Winner: Roman Reigns by pinfall at 30:46, to retain

After the match, Tyson Fury gets in the ring and gets in Roman Reigns’ face. As Reigns leaves, Fury helps Drew McIntyre up, grabs a mic, and says McIntyre should be proud of himself and the entire crowd was chanting for him. Fury then starts singing ‘American Pie’, as McIntyre and the crowd join in. McIntyre gets on the mic and thanks the crowd and says that title will be his one day before he starts singing as well to end the show.
