Following last week’s Grand Slam edition, AEW Rampage was down from the previous week and ranked ninth among cable originals on Friday.
The September 30th taped edition of the show from Philadelphia averaged 472,000 viewers and approximately 209,000 (0.16) in the 18-49 demographic, according to Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics and Showbuzz Daily.
Last week’s two-hour special from Arthur Ashe Stadium averaged 522,000 viewers (558,000 in hour one and 486,000 in hour two) and 0.17 in the 18-49 demo (0.18 and 0.16 respectively). Compared with the two-hour average, Rampage was down 10% in viewership and dropped by 6% in the key demo.
Rampage ranked ninth among cable originals, which was led by the two college football games that aired back-to-back on ESPN beginning at 7 p.m. ET. Rampage also ranked behind a Liga MX soccer game on TUDN that aired at 8 p.m. ET but ended by the time Rampage began.
If you compare it to two weeks ago, Rampage was up by 14% in the demo and nearly identical with 470,000 viewers on the September 16th edition.
In the 18-49 demo this past Friday, male viewership was down by 11.5% and females dropped by 6%.
The major decline was among adults 18-34 which fell by 30% this week and was its lowest in that demo since September 3rd.
Adults 35-49 increased by 5% this week.
The lineup on Friday included The Acclaimed defending the AEW tag titles in a three-way match with Private Party and The Butcher & The Blade, and John Silver taking on Rush in the main event.
This week’s episode is a two-hour live special from Washington, D.C. with Rampage airing at 10 p.m. ET and immediately followed by Battle of the Belts IV for the second hour on TNT.
