STRONG Openweight Title match, six man tag added to NJPW Rumble on 44th Street

The reigning STRONG Openweight Champion Fred Rosser issues an open challenge for NJPW Rumble on 44th Street

Open challenge issued for the STRONG Openweight Title.

This week, New Japan Pro-Wrestling will be back in New York City. The festivities kick off with ‘The Night Before Rumble on 44th Street’ on 10/27 and then Rumble on 44th Street on 10/28.

The match card for the 10/28 event is taking shape and NJPW recently pushed out a video on their digital platforms of STRONG Openweight Champion Fred Rosser issuing an open challenge.

Rosser stated that it can be anyone who steps up and cited companies such as IMPACT Wrestling, AEW and WWE as places that the potential opponent could come from.

There is a six man tag match that has been made official for Rumble on 44th Street. It is going to be Wheeler Yuta, Homicide and Shota Umino taking on Tom Lawlor, Jorel Nelson and Royce Isaacs.

With the addition of Rosser’s open challenge, here’s the updated lineup for this Friday’s event:

  • Clark Connors vs. Minoru Suzuki
  • Rocky Romero & YOH vs. Yujiro Takahashi & SHO
