Chris Jericho & Daniel Garcia (w/ Jake Hager, Matt Menard & Angelo Parker) vs. Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta

William Regal came out with Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta, before joining the commentary table. Claudio and Chris Jericho started the match. Claudio right away cornered Jericho with uppercuts, who quickly tagged out to Daniel Garcia. Yuta tagged in and knocked Garcia down with a dropkick, as the crowd chanted for Yuta. Yuta and Garcia went back and forth before Yuta hit a senton for a two-count. As Yuta held Garcia down, Claudio collided with Jericho and they started raining elbows down. As Jake Hager distracted Aubrey Edwards, Matt Menard and Angelo Parker came into the ring to break up the elbows. All four competitors started fighting outside before Yuta tossed Garcia back in. Claudio tries the giant swing, but Garcia kicks his way out and tags in Jericho. Hager was able to help out and attack Claudio as they went picture-in-picture.

When we come back, Claudio is in control, suplexing Garcia down. Jericho tags in and knocks Yuta off the apron and attempts the Walls of Jericho, only to be kicked off and hit with an uppercut. Yuta tags in and hits a top rope splash for a two-count, before going right after Garcia, knocking him to the outside. Claudio tags in and assists Yuta in hitting a tornado DDT off of him, before going for the Ricola Bomb. Claudio bounces off the ropes and lands right into the Code Breaker, but Yuta breaks it up at two. Yuta tosses Garcia to the outside and dives onto him, Menard, and Parker. Jericho grabs the bat, but Claudio catches him and hits him with a powerbomb. Claudio goes for the giant swing, but Garcia lands on Claudio’s shoulders as Claudio remarkably does the giant swing anyway. Hager tries to interfere, but Claudio takes him out as well as the rest of the Jericho Appreciation Society on the outside. Jericho hits a diving uppercut, followed by the Neutralizer for the pin and the win.

Winner: Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta by pinfall at 11:41

Discuss As Adults

Renee Paquette is backstage with Bryan Danielson in the Mongo Position (named after Brian Muster, the former lead video engineer for AEW who recently passed away). Danielson says he’s angry and will take out his frustrations on Sammy Guevara tonight as Yuta is happy that Danielson is finally angry. Yuta calls himself a grown-ass man as he and Danielson start shoving each other. Claudio and Regal break them apart and say after the show they will sit down and discuss this as adults, as Danielson wishes Yuta a happy birthday.

Elite No More

We see a video package for The Elite, showing highlights of them in AEW but each image shows them disappearing before showing the AEW logo with the E disappearing.

Ring of Honor Open Challenge

When we come back from the commercial, Tony Schiavone is with the Jericho Appreciation Society who all seem frustrated, but there are multiple audio issues as the crowd starts chanting ‘what’, with their words going in and out. Chris Jericho issues an open challenge next week for any former ROH champion as Sammy Guevara says he will beat Bryan Danielson tonight.

#1 Contender’s Match: Swerve in Our Glory (Keith Lee & Swerve Strickland) vs. FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood)

The Gunns are sitting in the crowd dressed as FTR, as The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn come out with chairs to sit on the stage and watch this match. Swerve Strickland and Cash Wheeler start the match. Wheeler stays in control before tagging in Dax Harwood who hits a snap suplex and a leg drop before getting a two-count. FTR tries the Big Rig on Keith Lee but they fail to pick him up, as Lee leapfrogs them and takes them both down with a crossbody as they go to picture-in-picture.

As we come back, the audio issues continue a bit as Lee and Harwood get into a chop battle. As Harwood and Swerve battle, Wheeler tags in and they punch Swerve back and forth before hitting him with a powerbomb and dragon suplex for a two count from Wheeler. Swerve comes back and hits a powerbomb on Wheeler as Lee gets a two. Harwood and Swerve go back and forth until Harwood hits a slingshot powerbomb. Lee and Wheeler go at it and bump heads as Lee falls on Wheeler and gets a two. Harwood and Lee head to the top rope, before Wheeler tags in, as Harwood superplexes Lee followed by a splash from Wheeler to Lee’s back for a two count. They try the Big Rig again, but Swerve breaks it up. Wheeler breaks Swerve in Our Glory up and hits the Big Rig on Lee, but Swerve pulls out Harwood to stop the count. Swerve whips Wheeler into the barricade next to The Gunns before hitting a low blow on Harwood as the referee wasn’t looking. The Gunns hold back Wheeler as Lee hits Harwood with a jackhammer for the pin and the win to become the #1 contender for the AEW World Tag Team Championship.

Winners: Swerve in Our Glory (Keith Lee & Swerve Strickland) by pinfall at 15:06

The Gunns try to attack FTR after the match, but The Acclaimed run in for the save.

Moral Sessions

Renee Paquette is backstage with Saraya, but they quickly get interrupted by Dr. Britt Baker DMD, and start going back and forth. Renee stops them and says if they want to talk, they will do it properly which they agree on.

With All Due Respect

After the commercial, Renee appeared on the stage and introduces MJF. MJF tells Renee she has it from here and asks what she has for him. Renee asks MJF what she feels about facing Jon Moxley at Full Gear. MJF starts imitating the way Moxley walks and talks trying to get Renee upset. MJF says when he thinks of Moxley only one word comes to mind which is Mid. Renee says he can’t say ‘with all due respect’ then goes to disrespect him, so MJF tells her ‘with all due respect, shut your mouth’. MJF then starts talking about William Regal and his brass knuckles and promises to not use his Dynamite Diamond Ring with his match against Moxley. MJF talks about how at Full Gear he is fighting every sorry scumbag who ever told him he wasn’t good enough and he’s going to take the heavy chip off his shoulder and shove it down all their throats and become their new AEW World Champion.

As he is about to close with his catchphrase, Stokely Hathaway interrupts him and says they won’t lay a hand on Moxley, but MJF knocks the mic out of his hand and gets in Stokely’s face. MJF says if Moxley gets past Pentagon tonight, he needs him at 110% so nobody has any excuses when he beats him and tells Stokely to not go near him, lay a hand on him or even look at him, and if he does, he is fired. MJF then does his catchphrase and countdowns to do it with the crowd.

Taven Challenges Wardlow

We get a video package from The Kingdom where Matt Taven says he will step up at WarJoe’s challenge and will challenge Wardlow for the TNT Championship. Wardlow responds back and says this Friday night on Rampage there are two things that are inevitable, Taven will be a casualty of the Powerbomb Symphony and Wardlow wins.

Sammy Guevara (w/ Tay Melo) vs. Bryan Danielson

William Regal joins commentary as Taz and Tony Schiavone ask him about problems with the Blackpool Combat Club. They start fast right away, as Sammy Guevara hits a springboard cutter for a two count. Danielson tries a German Suplex, but Guevara lands on his feet, tries a dropkick but gets caught as Danielson applies the Romero Special. They start trading strikes before Danielson knocks down Guevara. They start brawling to the outside, as Guevara hits an Acai Moonsault before they go to picture-in-picture.

When we come back, Guevara is in control in the ring and calls Daniels a ‘stupid dragon’ before doing his own kicks. Danielson takes control with his own kicks and hits a flying elbow strike. Danielson knocks Guevara to the outside and hits him with a dive. Danielson hits a shotgun dropkick back inside before hitting his kicks, then Guevara ducks the last one and hits a Spanish Fly for a two count. Guevara goes to the top rope, but Guevara stops him and tries a back body drop but Guevara lands on his feet and misses a couple of moonsaults before Danielson catches him and puts on the LeBell Lock, but Guevara is able to roll out and put his feet on the ropes. They head back and forth until Danielson hits a reverse hurricanrana and the Busaiku Knee. Danielson starts kicking Guevara’s head in before putting on the Triangle Choke as the referee stops the match.

Winner: Bryan Danielson by referee stoppage at 15:00

Y’all Talking About Me?

Renee Paquette is backstage with Rey Fenix and Alex Abrahantes and asks Fenix about Penta’s opportunity to become world champion which he says he will be a double champion. Fenix says any person of Death Triangle can be a double champion, as Alex suggests the All-Atlantic Championship. Christian Cage and Luchasaurus interrupt as Cage says they will be going after every title and Luchasaurus deserves that title shot, as Jungle Boy pinned Fenix. Orange Cassidy interrupts and asks if they are talking about his title and says next week, let’s do this.

Jamie Hayter (w/ Dr. Britt Baker DMD & Rebel) vs. Riho

They go at it right away, until Dr. Britt Baker DMD grabs Riho’s foot while she was trying to run the ropes. Riho knocks Jamie Hayter to the outside and hits her with a crossbody off the top rope. Hayter is able to take control of the match as they go into picture-in-picture.

When we come back they go back and forth with a roll-up before Riho hits a stomp. Hayter catches a crossbody from Riho and hits her with a brainbuster for a two-count. Riho is able to reverse Hayter and hit a headscissors from the middle rope. As Rebel distracts the referee, Baker pulls Riho’s leg again. This distraction doesn’t do much, as Riho hits a Code Red for a two. Hayter dodges a double stomp and hits a backbreaker. Riho reverses the ripcord lariat and hits a Dragon Suplex for a two. Hayter finally hits the ripcord lariat and gets the pin for the win.

Winner: Jamie Hayter by pinfall at 10:52

Toni Storm comes out after the match and raises her title, sending a message to Jamie Hayter.

Leave Me Alone

Renee Paquette is backstage with Eddie Kingston who is faking a smile for the talk he had last week with Death Triangle. Renee asks Kingston about tonight’s main event, which Kingston says it’ll be hard for Moxley but he’ll take it and tell everybody else to leave him alone.

The Old Friend

We see a video from Darby Allin who says Sting hasn’t been here for a while because Darby told him he’s not happy and told Sting he needs to prove himself by himself. Darby brings up his ‘old friend’ who knows his biggest weakness and Allin tells the ‘old friend’ to come to Dynamite next week and tell him to his face his biggest weakness. Jay Lethal says to worry less about the friend and more about the match.

AEW World Championship: Jon Moxley (c) vs. Penta El Zero Miedo (w/ Alex Abrahantes)

Penta El Zero Miedo comes out with some sick samurai-inspired gear. This match starts really fast and aggressive as Excalibur brings up TripleMania XXX and Penta’s match against Villano IV. Penta sends Moxley to the outside and dives onto him as they go picture-in-picture.

When we come back, Moxley hits the 10 punches from the rope, followed by a cutter and a piledriver for a two-count. They go back and forth until Moxley kicks Penta’s face in, but Penta quickly reverses it and snaps back Moxley’s arm for a two-count. They start fighting on the apron until they end up on the steel steps where Moxley hits Penta with a DDT. Back inside, Moxley hits the King Kong Lariat but only gets a two-count. Penta traps Moxley in the corner and hits him with a top rope stomp followed by the Fear Factor but Moxley kicks out at two. Moxley stops Penta springboarding from the ropes and hits the Paradigm Shift followed by the Death Rider for the pin and the win.

Winner: Jon Moxley by pinfall at 12:18, to retain

Firm Biz

The Firm’s W. Morrissey, The Gunns, Lee Moriarty, and Ethan Page run out and attack Jon Moxley after the match before Stokely Hathaway joins them in the ring. Security runs out to try and stop them but The Firm stops them. We go to Alex Marvez backstage who shows that the Blackpool Combat Club’s door has been chained so they can’t leave to help Moxley. The Firm continues the attack until MJF comes out and seems conflicted about what to do before heading to the back. MJF does eventually run back into the ring and tells The Firm to step off and fires Stokely. As MJF turns away, The Firm attacks him including Page hitting MJF with the Ego’s Edge. They send MJF to the outside where Morrissey chokeslams MJF through a table.
