Kendrick helped with a championship match at the event.
WWE’s Survivor Series: WarGames event took place on November 26th and there were a total of five matches on the card. There were two championship matches on the night, one of which saw Ronda Rousey defeat Shotzi to retain the SmackDown Women’s Title.
It was first shared by Fightful Select that Brian Kendrick worked alongside Jason Jordan to produce the SmackDown Women’s Title match. In a follow up to that, PWInsider noted that it was a tryout for Kendrick and as of their reporting, he is not officially back with the company.
Earlier this year and in 2021, Kendrick was working as a producer for NXT and 205 Live (NXT Level Up). He opted to leave the company and shortly after he became a free agent, he was scheduled to take on Jon Moxley on AEW Dynamite.
As the match was inching closer, Kendrick was removed from the show as past comments of his that he made on-camera resurfaced. There were remarks he made about the Sandy Hook school shooting and the Holocaust.
Over the summer, Kendrick recounted being informed by Tony Khan, Sonjay Dutt and Bryan Danielson that he was being pulled from Dynamite.
Kendrick stated that he was ‘officially released’ from AEW on May 1st. He had two contracts with the company, adding that he was in limbo from February-May until it was decided that nothing could be done with him.
