Aussie Open increased its lead in the World Tag League following its latest win on Wednesday.
Mark Davis & Kyle Fletcher continued their unbeaten streak in the New Japan tournament after beating EVIL & Yujiro Takahashi with Corealis on Wednesday in front of a cheering crowd in Shizuoka.
The win increases their point total to eight and a record of 4-0. They have five matches remaining in the Tag League, which concludes on 12/14 in Sendai.
TMDK of Mikey Nicholls & Shane Haste improved to 3-1 with a win against Tetsuya Naito & SANADA after Fletcher pinned SANADA following the Tankbuster. Naito & SANADA fell to 2-2 with four points.
TMDK is tied for second with Lance Archer & Minoru Suzuki with six points with the Suzuki-gun members defeating Great O-Khan & Aaron Henare on Wednesday with Archer hitting Henare with the Blackout.
In the main event, Hiroshi Tanahashi & Toru Yano defeated Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI in 13:44 after Tanahashi pinned Yujiro with the High Fly Flow as both teams leave Shizuoka with 2-2 records and four points each.
The World Tag League continues in Osaka on Friday with a ten-match card featuring five matches from the World Tag League and five from the Super Jr. Tag League.
