Cain Velasquez, out of prison on $1 million bail, addressed fans as he took part in a wrestling event for the first time since his arrest.
Velasquez was appearing at a Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide event in Tempe, Arizona, on Saturday night.
A California judge approved the former UFC Heavyweight Champion’s participation in the event, as well as the removal of a GPS monitor he must wear per the conditions of his bail. He was required to pay for and bring with him a law enforcement officer during the trip.
After entering the ring to cheers, Velasquez addressed the crowd:
Thank you. To be here tonight, guys, right now, is a dream come true. I truly appreciate it all — what you guys have already done — supported me, my family. Thank you, guys, forever. My heart is happy to be here with you guys. I will always continue to fight, forever. Keep going up forever. Thank you, guys.
