John Cena is set to return for the final episode of Friday Night SmackDown this year.
Variety reports that Cena will appear on the 12/30 edition of SmackDown at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida adding that “more announcements are planned for the episode in the coming weeks.”
Cena last appeared on WWE programming this past June for the 20th anniversary of his main roster call-up in June 2002 from Ohio Valley Wrestling. During the episode, Cena had a backstage interaction with current U.S. champion Austin Theory.
Cena, 45, has not wrestled since October 2021.
