Tonight’s edition of NXT and the 12/27 show are taped events. Scheduled for next week’s program is Wes Lee defending the North American Championship against Tony D’Angelo.

New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) had their first defense of the NXT Tag Team Championships. They bested Brooks Jenson and Josh Briggs to retain.

The Women’s Tag Team Titles were successfully retained as well. The duo of Kayden Carter and Katana Chance extended their reign as they came out victorious in a Triple Threat tag that included Ivy Nile and Tatum Paxley and Toxic Attraction (Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne).

At New Year’s Evil on January 10th, Grayson Waller is challenging Bron Breakker for the NXT Championship. Throughout tonight’s program, Waller continuously called Breakker out to meet him in the ring despite knowing Breakker was not in the vicinity. It was explained that Breakker was doing promotional work for Vengeance Day in February

In the final segment of the show, Breakker arrived to the venue and went straight to the ring to brawl with Waller. Breakker connected with a spear but was knocked out as Waller was sporting a metal chest plate.

Since coming to NXT, Isla Dawn has targeted Alba Fyre. That continued on the 12/20 show. Fyre was on her way to the ring and Dawn spit red mist in her face. Once Fyre was good to go, she made her way to the ring for her match against Sol Ruca but was ambushed again.

One of the bouts made official for the 12/27 show is Fallon Henley taking on Kiana James. The winner gets possession of Henley’s parents’ bar.

New NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez was the focus of a sit-down interview that was conducted by her trainer Booker T.

In the show opener, Carmelo Hayes scored a win over Axiom. Later in the program, Hayes came face-to-face with Apollo Crews and Crews told him to name the place and time so they can clash.

The ongoing story between Elektra Lopez and Indi Hartwell continued. In their singles match, Lopez used brass knuckles to put Hartwell away.

The following matches were added to the 12/27 lineup:

  • Julius Creed vs. J.D. McDonagh
  • Wendy Choo vs. Cora Jade
  • The Schism (Joe Gacy, Rip Fowler & Jagger Reid) (w/ Ava Raine) vs. Edris Enofe, Malik Blade & Odyssey Jones

Drew Gulak is going to be hosting a seminar on next week’s show. Hank Walker asked to attend and Gulak accepted.

The former duo of Zoey Stark and Nikkita Lyons came to blows and Stark snuck a win by using the bottom rope for leverage.
