AJ Styles has revealed that he suffered a broken ankle at a WWE live event earlier this week.
At the show on Thursday, December 29th, in Hershey, Pennsylvania, Styles teamed with Karl Anderson & Mia Yim in a mixed tag match with Damian Priest, Finn Balor and Rhea Ripley of The Judgment Day.
During the match, the performer took a move over the ropes to the floor when Balor countered the Styles Clash. After attempting to get back in the ring, he was seen grabbing his right leg. The match was soon waved off by the referee and ended without a finish with Styles being helped to the back.
Taking to his Twitter account on Saturday, the 45-year-old confirmed the extent of his injury.
Just want you guys to know that I’m ok. Broken ankle is what I’m dealing with. No surgery, this just takes some time to recover. This will be the longest I've ever been out of the ring. Thanks for the prayers and get well wishes.

Styles noted that, while he did not require surgery, his recovery period is expected to be lengthy.
