FITE has confirmed that it will remain AEW’s digital partner in Australia and New Zealand, retaining its AEW+ service and providing access to live PPVs.
The news comes after Thursday’s announcement that ESPN had acquired “exclusive” broadcast rights to AEW programming. This will include live showings of Dynamite and Rampage, as well as delayed broadcasts of AEW’s main quarterly pay-per-views.
Thursday’s statement made no mention of the future of AEW+ on the FITE platform in the region.
In most regions, broadcast rights and streaming rights are treated separately in law, which can lead to less-than clear usage of terms such as “exclusive” for consumers.
FITE has now clarified that there will be no change to its offering in Australasia. Subscribers will continue to have access to ad-free live streams of Dynamite, Rampage and Battle of the Belts.
FITE will also continue to offer live streams of AEW pay-per-views.
Statement below, first provided to PWMania:
FITE’s AEW Plus remains the best way to enjoy All Elite Wrestling shows in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands – and FITE is still the exclusive digital platform for live PPV events in the region.
AEW: Dynamite, AEW: Rampage, are available to AEW Plus subscribers live and on demand with no commercial breaks. Subscribers also get high-quality commercial-free access to AEW: Dark, AEW: Dark Elevation, and Battle of the Belts special episodes. All on the most reliable, multi-device, streaming platform in sports.
FITE is the top platform in the world for PPV events in Pro Wrestling, Boxing, MMA, grappling and other sports, and has been proud to present AEW’s PPV events Revolution, All Out, Double or Nothing, and Full Gear to global audiences live.
AEW+ is $6.99 per month in the Australian and New Zealand region, with a 7-day free trial.
