WWE Elimination Chamber notes: Roman Reigns def. Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens returns, Edge & Beth hit ‘Big Rig’

Sami Zayn falls short, Kevin Owens returns, Dax Harwood reacts to Edge & Beth Phoenix hitting 'Big Rig', Lesnar-Lashley DQ

Closing out the 2023 WWE Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event was Sami Zayn challenging Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. The conclusion of the match saw Roman Reigns retain his titles. There was a point when Jimmy Uso got involved and halted Zayn’s momentum. When Reigns had Sami down, Jey Uso entered the ring and Reigns offered him the chance to hit Zayn with a chair but he did not.

While Reigns was face-to-face with Jey, Sami charged in their direction and accidentally speared Jey. Post-match, Jimmy and Reigns were beating Zayn down which led to the return of Kevin Owens. Owens was about to continue beating down Reigns but when he noticed Zayn lining him up for the ‘Helluva Kick’, he moved out of his way and then left the ring.

Edge and Beth Phoenix picked up the win over Judgment Day’s Rhea Ripley and Finn Balor. They won the match with the ‘Big Rig’ a.k.a Shatter Machine which is the finisher that FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) uses. Dax reacted them using the move:

The singles match between Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley resulted in a disqualification after Lesnar low-blow’d his opponent. Brock then proceeded to F5 the referee twice and F5’d Lashley through a table.

A WrestleMania 39 commercial featuring Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins that was a parody of ‘Joker’ aired.

While United States Champion Austin Theory was in the Elimination Chamber, Michael Cole stated on commentary that there was a ‘person’ with a high-level of power who thought Theory would be great and a champion.

In the women’s Elimination Chamber, Liv Morgan was eliminated after being locked in a submission by both Natalya and Asuka. She was ruled out after ‘passing out’.
