WWE programming returned to A&E this past Sunday night with a biography on the N.W.O. and a new episode of Rivals.
The two-hour edition of Biography dedicated to the New World Order averaged 495,000 viewers and 196,000 (0.15) in the 18-49 demographic, according to Showbuzz Daily & Wrestlenomics.
The show ranked #25 among cable originals on Sunday.
In the 18-49 demo, the N.W.O. doc surpassed all by three of the documentaries that aired in the second season in 2022.
The 2022 slate includes Biography episodes of The Undertaker, Bill Goldberg, The Bellas, Kurt Angle, Lex Luger, DX, Edge, Rey Mysterio, and WrestleMania 1.
The nine-episode season averaged 496,000 viewers and 0.13 in the demo.
The N.W.O. doc included new interviews with Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, Eric Bischoff, and Sean Waltman.
The season premiere of Rivals focused on Hulk Hogan vs. Andre the Giant and averaged 444,000 viewers and 0.14 in the 18-49 demographic, which ranked #27 among cable originals on Sunday.
WWE’s programming on A&E aired against TNT’s coverage of the NBA All-Star Game on Sunday night, which topped everything on cable. The game averaged 3.7 million viewers and did 1.40 in the 18-49 demographic. There was also an XFL game in prime time on ESPN that averaged 918,000 viewers and 0.29 in the demo.
Last season, Rivals averaged 368,000 viewers and 0.11 in the demo.
This Sunday, Biography will feature an episode dedicated to Jake “The Snake” Roberts, and Rivals will cover The Undertaker vs. Mankind.
Additional episodes of Biography will cover Chyna, Kane, The Iron Sheik, and Dusty Rhodes this season.
