His chemo treatment began on March 29th.
A GoFundMe was set up by the mother of pro wrestling referee, Kevin Pierce. He was informed that he’s been diagnosed with stage four colorectal cancer. Pierce began his chemo treatment on March 29th.
As of this writing, $8,000 of the $10,000 target goal has been raised. Pierce has officiated for New Japan Pro-Wrestling and the company pushed the GoFundMe. Here is the write-up from Pierce’s mother:
About two weeks ago, I received a phone call no mother could be prepared for. What I thought would be a simple phone call to catch up turned into a seemingly never-ending waking nightmare. My 33-year-old son, Sam, went to the ER with severe lower abdominal pains and blood in his stool. Within hours, he was admitted and testing began. Two days later, he was diagnosed with Stage 4 colorectal cancer that spread to 3 spots on his liver. The only thing that was running through my mind was how fast could I get to North Carolina to be with him. All I could do was pray that I can make this better knowing that the odds may not be in his favor. I know my son is a true fighter and can beat this. After hearing all of the updates and reading all of the literature his fiance, Josey, gathered over their week of back-to-back appointments, I know he is in the best possible hands as the Cancer Center at both Cone Health Drawbridge and Wesley Long hospitals in Greensboro, NC have expedited his treatment. They are extremely confident that he will respond well to treatments! They are going in fast and hard. We are all obviously scared, but also extremely hopeful. His port has already been placed and he begins chemo on March 29th.Unfortunately, Sam is no longer able to work. Not only does he have a “normal” job, but he is also a professional wrestling referee. He is devastated. His fiance’s job has been so understanding and flexible with what hours she can work to make up time, but she is out of PTO and going unpaid on days she has to completely miss for his appointments and treatments.I know they are stressing over how to maintain their sense of normalcy. They already have their day-to-day bills and now additional medical bills rolling in. On top of that, they are experiencing car problems and phone issues. Knowing they have this overwhelming weight on their shoulders breaks my heart as they need to focus on peace, healing, and hope.I know many people in both my community and his know and love Sam aka Kevin Pierce. Any help in relieving some of this financial burden would be a true blessing.
