On Wednesday, AEW returned to the home of the first Dynamite broadcast, the Capital One Arena in Washington, DC.
AEW World Heavyweight Championship: MJF vs. Adam Cole
** The show opened with an epic World Title eliminator match between the MJF and Adam Cole, who engaged in a war of words during last week’s episode. The match ended in a time-limit draw.
CM Punk Promo
** A video package featuring CM Punk then aired, as the returning star said he does not know what he will do or say at the debut edition of AEW Collision on Saturday.

Sammy Guevara Interview
** Sammy Guevara was introduced for an in-ring interview with Renee Paquette. He said that he would reach a point where he holds his baby daughter in one arm and the AEW Championship in the other.
Guevara was interrupted by Darby Allin. Allin said (to a mixed reaction) that the crowd was starting to love Sammy again. Allin asked Guevara to align with himself and Sting. Chris Jericho then emerged and complained that Sammy had not asked for his advice in the run-up to his Double Or Nothing title match.
They traded barbs, with Jericho demanding an apology. Guevara said he wasn’t “apologizing for shit.” Jericho then said he wanted a match, with Allin telling him he may be a wizard but the “magic was gone.” As Jericho threatened Allin, Sting came to the ring.
Sting and Jericho faced off in the middle of the ring, both men wielding their baseball bats. They clashed bats a couple of times before Jericho left.
An EPIC face-off is happening in the ring right now! 😳

SANADA Appears
** SANADA issued an open challenge for his IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at Forbidden Door via video message. He said he looked forward to seeing who would step up. Jack Perry later accepted the challenge.
Eight-Man Tag Match
** Darby Allin and Sting teamed up for the finish to the eight-man tag match between Brian Cage, Kaun, Swerve Strickland & Toa Liona of the Mogul Embassy, and Allin, Sting, Orange Cassidy and Keith Lee.
Best Brothers?
** The Gunns challenged the Hardys for a match next Wednesday to see who was the best brother tag team in AEW.
TNT Championship: Wardlow (c) vs. Jake Hager
** Wardlow overcame some JAS interference to successfully defend his TNT Championship against Jake Hager. Afterwards, Christian appeared on the big screen to accept Wardlow’s open challenge to Luchasaurus. Luchasaurus was seen holding a bloodied Arn Anderson. The match will take place on Collision.

Tanahashi’s Challenge
** Hiroshi Tanahashi then appeared on screen to challenge MJF for the AEW World Heavyweight Championship. Renee Paquette told MJF backstage that the match was official. MJF declined the match describing Tanahashi as a “rando from a rinky-dinky indie.”
Orange Bollocks
** Describing Orange Cassidy as “Orange Bollocks”, Zack Sabre Jr. appeared backstage to challenge for the AEW International Championship. Daniel Garcia then appeared to make the same challenge. Cassidy told the pair to face both him and Katsuyori Shibata in a tag match on the next episode of Dynamite.

Match Announcements
** A series of match announcements were then made for AEW Collision, debuting on Saturday (listed below).
Main Event
** The Young Bucks and Adam page defeated Claudio Castagnoli, Jon Moxley & Wheeler Yuta of the Blackpool Combat Club in the show’s main event. It was an all-action trios match but the post-match was the real story. After the bell, the teams brawled and Eddie Kingston appeared. He was followed by Konosuke Takeshita, and then Kenny Omega.
The show was capped off, however, as Will Ospreay made a surprise appearance to attack Omega. The show went off the air with Ospreay standing tall after landing the Storm Breaker.
