Will Ospreay wants to share the ring with Naomichi Marufuji for his 25th anniversary, says ball is in NOAH’s court

Ospreay says it would mean a lot to him to be in the ring with Marufuji.

For the second time, Will Ospreay is IWGP U.S. Heavyweight Champion. He bested Kenny Omega at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door to regain the championship. Ospreay had assistance from Don Callis throughout the match.

After the show, Ospreay joined AEW President Tony Khan to take questions from the media. He stated that he feels him and Omega topped their match from NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17

He had a conversation about doing independents and said he’ll likely wrap up doing weekly independents this year.

On September 17th, Pro Wrestling NOAH is hosting Naomichi Marufuji’s 25th anniversary event at Korakuen Hall. Ospreay said Marufuji is his idol and he’d like to be a part of that. He added that the ball is in NOAH’s court.

He plugged the match he has with Shingo Takagi at Revolution Pro Wrestling’s Copper Box show on August 26th. Tony Khan chimed in and shouted out RevPro promoter Andy Quildan. Ospreay went to say he’d love to be a part of AEW All In on 8/27.
