AEW Dynamite drops to three-year low in 18-49 demographic

AEW was unable to carry momentum from the pay-per-view as Dynamite fell to a three-year low in its key demographic.

The June 28 edition of Dynamite from Hamilton averaged 809,000 viewers and approximately 316,000 (0.24) in the 18-49 demographic, per Wrestlenomics and Showbuzz Daily, and ranked third among cable originals on Wednesday.

It was a drop of 10% in overall viewership and a 28% decline in the 18-49 demographic representing the lowest audience in the key demo for Dynamite on its normal night since June 24, 2020.

In the 18-49 demo, females declined by 31% and males were down by 26% from last week’s episode>

Adults 18-34 dropped by 23% including a 31% reduction in female viewers in the demo from last week.

Adults 35-49 fell by 30% and the one demo that grew was Adults 50+ which went from 0.35 last week to 0.38.

Despite the three-year low in the demo, Dynamite was still third on cable behind the NHL Draft (681,000 viewers and 0.25) on ESPN and Real Housewives of Orange County (781,000 and 0.24) and adds the context of seeing the show’s overall ranking in relation to its competition.

In Canada, Dynamite averaged 99,500 viewers and 58,900 in the 25-54 demographic on TSN 2 with the show airing live from Hamilton. The viewership was up 4% and the demo increased by 2% from last week’s numbers.

Following the Forbidden Door event, Dynamite featured a main event involving Sting & Darby Allin against Chris Jericho & Sammy Guevara. The show opened with a match between Jon Moxley and Tomohiro Ishii.
