McIntyre has been cast in a film.
For the first time since WrestleMania 39, Drew McIntyre was back in action for WWE on the July 10th Monday Night Raw. He teamed with Matt Riddle to defeat Imperium’s Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci. Post-match, McIntyre told Riddle that he will not be on next week’s Raw so maybe Riddle should hold off on going after Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER.
According to PWInsider, McIntyre is not going to be on the show as he has been cast in an action film titled ‘The Killer’s Game’. The movie stars Dave Bautista and Ice Cube.
Deadline wrote the following for the film’s synopsis:
Based on Jay Bonansinga’s novel, the film is written by Rand Ravich and Simon Kinberg, with recent rewrites by James Coyne. The film follows veteran assassin Joe Flood (Bautista), who is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness and authorizes a kill on himself to avoid the pain that is destined to follow. After ordering the kill, he finds out that he was misdiagnosed and must then fend off the army of former colleagues trying to kill him.
McIntyre returned to WWE at Money in the Bank and took out GUNTHER.
