Will Ospreay will square off with Naomichi Marufuji at the NOAH veteran’s 25th anniversary show.
In a special interpromotional match, Ospreay will appear at the Pro Wrestling NOAH event, it was announced earlier on Saturday.
Ospreay had previously expressed an interest in competing with Marufuji, whom he called his idol at the press conference after June’s AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door event.
Marufuji’s 25th anniversary show will take place at Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, on September 17th.
Ospreay commented:
This means more to me than anyone will ever understand. I’m honoured to step foot on the Ark and face my hero Marufuji San.
Marufuji, 43, debuted in 1998 after graduating from the All Japan Pro Wrestling dojo. He was part of that promotion’s exodus to Pro Wrestling NOAH in 2000, where he has remained since.
