Kota Ibushi has addressed his performance in the Blood & Guts match on last week’s AEW Dynamite special.
Earlier on Wednesday, he took to social media to explain that he had not worked with thumbtacks or glass in a long time.
He added that his wrestling boots had thin soles, and his movement was affected after the objects penetrated his feet.
Ibushi commented that from the halfway point of the match, he could not throw kicks and his ankles stiffened up. He said this left leaving him moving “like an old man.”

The 41-year-old finished his message by seemingly joking that he was walking with a cane for the first time in his life, but would be recovered by tomorrow.
Ibushi made his AEW debut in last week’s Blood & Guts match. He teamed with Kenny Omega, Hangman Page & the Young Bucks to form the victorious ‘Golden Elite’ against Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, PAC & Konosuke Takeshita.
