KAIRI held her press conference today.
It’s been reported by both PWInsider and F4WOnline that KAIRI is returning to WWE. F4WOnline added that she’s coming back to the company after wrapping up her dates in Japan.
KAIRI shared that she was going to have a press conference and that was held today. KAKUTO LOG has a recap of the presser and the first-ever IWGP Women’s Champion stated that she’ll be taking an indefinite leave of absence at the end of September 2023.
She thanked STARDOM and reflected on becoming IWGP Women’s Champion. KAIRI described it as a dream come true and said her bouts with Mayu Iwatani and Mercedes Moné were special.
There were offers from organizations in Japan and overseas. At one point, KAIRI got it in her head to retire from wrestling but it made her feel good to know people still wanted to see her perform. She has made a decision that she cannot shed too much light on, but as she prepares for a new journey, she wants to take the leave of absence. KAIRI is scheduled to compete for Sendai Girls’ on 9/2 and she’ll be in action for All Japan on 9/8.
She further expressed her gratitude to Rossy Ogawa, STARDOM as a whole and all her supporters. During the Q&A portion, she was asked about newly crowned WWE Women’s Champion IYO SKY. She said they overcame tough times together in both the U.S. and Japan. She added that there’s no one tougher than IYO and she respects her.
