Edge went out with a win on the final match of his existing WWE contract.
The match was the culmination of Edge’s 25-Year Anniversary in WWE. He began his career in July 1993 and worked throughout Canada and the U.S.

As Edge, he first appeared on Raw is War in June 1998 against Jose Estrada.
In front of a packed Scotiabank Arena, Edge defeated Sheamus in the main event of Friday Night SmackDown after nineteen minutes and three seconds.
Edge required two spears to keep Sheamus down and register the pin and went off the air hugging Sheamus.

His wife Beth Phoenix and children, Ruby and Lyric, were in the front row along with Edge’s trainer Ron Hutchison.
Earlier this week, Edge (Adam Copeland) confirmed to ET Canada that this was the final match on his WWE contract and was unsure if it would be his last match.
Here’s what I can honestly say, and this isn’t the answer that everybody’s going to want: I truly don’t know. I really, really, with 100 percent truth can say I don’t know (if it’s my final match). And that’s strange for me. But I don’t. I really, really don’t. I’ve put some thought into it, but not a lot. This is the last match on my current contract, so I don’t know. I honestly don’t know. I probably won’t know until I get to the locker room that night and just decompress.
I’m going to be 50 in October. You know, it’s not easy anymore. Before, what I used to just take for granted to be able to do, now there’s a process and there’s a fallout. There’s a lot, you know? And it’s the dream gig, but again, it’s getting really hard. So I don’t know. That’s the most honest answer I can come up with.
This time when I do it though, I’m done. That will be it. There’s no coming back after this one… It’s truly one of those deals that, as cliché as it sounds, [feels] like this is the last scene in a movie. You know, one of those feel-good movies. And it just seems so surreal that I’m living it. I don’t look past it. I truly understand what this is. And, man, it still kind of blows my mind. (ET Canada)
Friday Night SmackDown included an interview with Paul Heyman, who told Kayla Braxton that Jimmy Uso would be appearing on next week’s show in Louisville, Kentucky.

Heyman was the only member of The Bloodline to appear on Friday’s episode.
After winning a tag match with Charlotte Flair, Bianca Belair was attacked backstage by Damage CTRL. The group placed a chair around Belair’s knee and struck it with another chair. Belair pinned Bayley in the tag match after hitting the KOD.

Earlier in the show, Austin Theory defeated LA Knight with a roll-up while grabbing the trunks and will get a future shot at Rey Mysterio for the U.S. Championship. The finish occurred after Knight was distracted by The Miz.
