The finals for Pro Wrestling NOAH’s N-1 Victory Tournament are set following Sunday’s show.
A reported attendance figure of 1,694 in Kawasaki witnessed the final night of the round-robin matches in the A & B Blocks with two men emerging as the block winners.
The A Block came down to Kenoh and Jake Lee in the penultimate match on the card and Kenoh prevailed after nearly twenty-three minutes. Kenoh finished the round-robin portion with ten points, which equaled the number by Lee with Kenoh advancing due to the outcome of their match on Sunday.
The A Block rounded out with Jack Morris at nine points, Yuki Yoshioka & Timothy Thatcher with eight, Masa Kitamiya at seven, Adam Brooks with four, and Yoshiki Inamura scoring zero points.
The final B Block match headlined Sunday’s show and saw Go Shiozaki defeat Manabu Soya by using the Strong Arm Lariat and punching his ticket to the final and a meeting with Kenoh. Shiozaki’s two points tied him with Soya at nine and advanced with the tiebreaker.
The B Block continued with Katsuhiko Nakajima, El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. & Lance Anoa’i ending with eight points, Saxon Huxley with six points, and Yuma Anzai & Daiki Inaba at four points.
Kenoh and Shiozaki have had six singles matches throughout their careers with Kenoh winning four, Shiozaki winning one, and they had a time-limit draw in August 2020. Shiozaki’s lone win in the series occurred on June 20, 2017, in their first meeting.
Shiozaki is a five-time GHC Heavyweight Champion while Kenoh has won the crown twice.
The winner of the N-1 Victory Tournament will earn a title shot in the future.
The finals take place on September 3 in Osaka.
