Another championship run and/or a behind the scenes role are two things Angelina would not mind.
On the docket for IMPACT Wrestling this week is their Victory Road special on 9/8 and the following day, the 1,000th episode of IMPACT is being taped and will air on 9/14.
One of the names scheduled for the show is Angelina Love and she’ll be appearing alongside Velvet Sky to reform The Beautiful People. Love is participating in a 10-woman tag match at the taping. She guest appeared on Busted Open Radio and expressed how excited she is.
Well yeah and you know, when we kind of look back at things we did in 2008, 2008 doesn’t seem like that long ago but then if you do the math, it’s like, oh yeah, it was a little while ago (she laughed). But yeah, it’s really exciting (IMPACT 1000). Gail (Kim) and I trained together. I’ve literally known her since I was 19, probably 19, because her, Traci (Brooks) and I were doing (Scott) D’Amore’s BCW shows back in the day on the Ontario indies. We trained together in Toronto and then once we started the Knockouts division, I mean I was married to (Awesome) Kong for a very long time, as was Gail. So yeah, it’s really cool. I feel like it’s going to be very emotional, just with the nostalgia and the energy so I’m really looking forward to it and like what you (Tommy Dreamer) had said to start, because what we did was a time period ago, we do have some people come up to us now, we’re at that point now where we’ll have some people come up to us at signings or shows or whatever and they’ll be like, ‘Oh! I grew up watching you’ or, ‘I watched you when I was in high school’ and we’re like, ‘Oh God. Are we old now?’ Even when we were really young when we were doing it, it’s like it’s so wild to see people who are — because I remember me telling people that and then when you have people telling you that…
1,000 episodes, that’s an incredible, incredible celebration and I’m so excited that we get to be there because it’s been a minute and that was home for us and that’s what made us kind of household names and we didn’t have the giant machine behind us. So that’s a really cool thing too.
The 6-time TNA Women’s Knockout Champion said she’s interested in transitioning to a behind the scenes role in wrestling. Angelina added that she would not mind having another championship run either.
I mean, would I love another championship run with something somewhere? Of course. I don’t feel ready to physically retire tomorrow but I feel like I’ll just know when I am but you know, I do wanna go into some kind of backstage role, whether it’s like a trainer or an agent, helping people with promos because that was a really big thing for me. I’m about to turn 42 in a week and I’ve been doing this since I was 18 so it’s been more than half my life and my entire adult life and I’ve spent probably more than 15 years doing TV so I feel like I have a lot to offer the next generation, those who are up and coming. So that’s an interest for me too.
