Mysterio was asked about Moreno’s appearance at Triplemanía.

Over the summer, two-time UFC Flyweight Champion Brandon Moreno made an appearance at AAA Triplemanía XXXI in Tijuana. He got physical in the ring with Daga and locked him in an armbar.

Current WWE United States Champion Rey Mysterio was asked about Moreno’s appearance during a conversation with ESPN’s Marc Raimondi. Mysterio would go on to say that he hopes Moreno decides to step into a WWE ring one day.

I saw a little bit of the footage on social media (of Brandon Moreno at AAA Triplemanía XXXI) and so, we had the podcast maybe a month before that happened and I was trying to convince him, ‘Bro, show me a little bit of MMA and I’ll teach you some of the ropes. Let’s get in the ring.’ He goes, ‘Ah! I would love to.’ So, we were kind of joking it out but I believe he does have a passion for wrestling, for lucha, you know, so I would love to interact with him more in the future and hope that maybe one day he decides to step in a WWE ring.

Elsewhere in the conversation, Mysterio listed his favorite opponents. He named Psychosis, Eddie Guerrero and Kurt Angle.

Man, for me, the one that stands out and has always been the one that helped Rey Mysterio grow was Psychosis. Psychosis was a guy that would do anything with me. Anything, anything and make me look like a beast in the ring and vice versa. We had such great chemistry that over the years, I’ve picked up that chemistry with other wrestlers but it was Psychosis for the beginning and then of course when I stepped in the ring with Eddie (Guerrero), we created magic and I’m not gonna leave Kurt Angle out as well because the world that he comes from, to be able to perform the way he did with me and not even knowing the lucha style was really incredible.

This Friday on SmackDown, Mysterio is set to meet face-to-face with Logan Paul. After Paul’s fight against Dillon Danis, he called out Mysterio and set his sights on the United States Title. Paul is also scheduled for the 10/23 WWE Raw.
