Cassidy is in the midst of his second reign as International Champion.

On the AEW Title Tuesday edition of Dynamite, Orange Cassidy defeated Rey Fénix to become International Champion for the second time. Cassidy lost the belt to Jon Moxley in the main event of All Out which wrapped up a year-long reign as champion.

Going into the 10/25 Dynamite where Cassidy is going to be teaming with Kazuchika Okada to take on Bryan Danielson and ROH World Champion Claudio Castagnoli, he guest appeared on John the Ninja Podcast

Cassidy dove into regaining the International Title and expressed that it felt like he lost purpose after he lost the championship at All Out.

It’s a very strange feeling for me, going from the International Championship to losing it. I didn’t know what I was gonna do. It’s something I’ve never felt before. I felt like I lost purpose. I didn’t have my purpose anymore and when the opportunity arose to have an opportunity to get it back, of course I jumped on it as quickly as possible and beating Rey Fénix for the championship, I don’t know if that had something to do with it but I’m still trying to figure this out and I’m experiencing a lot of new things that I never felt in professional wrestling before and it’s because of this AEW International Championship, and I think some of that has to do with when I beat Rey Fénix. I saw a lot of myself… Rey Fénix is by far a better professional wrestler than I am, but what I saw in him was how injured he was and how he was still fighting and it felt like the roles were reversed for some reason and I don’t know, it’s still a little shocking. It’s only been a week and it’s still a little jarring and I don’t know, winning it back was everything I wanted but it’s just something I can’t put my finger on.
