IMPACT Wrestling President Scott D’Amore signed up UK prospect Leon Slater during a live event on Saturday.

IMPACT is in the midst of its UK Invasion tour, which tonight brought the promotion to Coventry.

Benno from the GRAPPL podcast was in attendance and captured the moment.

Digital Spy’s Stephanie Chase was also present at the event and posted a clip of the segment.

Speaking about signing previous talent, D’Amore stood in the ring with Slater and said:

I’ve stood in a ring like this and I’ve done that to a guy by the name of Josh Alexander, and that kind of panned out.

I’ve stood in a ring like this and I did that with a guy like Mike Bailey, and that seems to have worked out pretty darn good. So I don’t know, I mean, if I had a contract to hand in my back pocket or something, and I guess if somebody had a pen…

So I mean, normally I’d say I’m giving it to your lawyer, he can read it over, we can go back and forth.  But the fact is we need Leon Slater at the dance with TNA. So if you put a little trust in me, Leon, I think if you just signed at the bottom here, we’ll take your f—king career exactly where it belongs, which is new heights at TNA Wrestling.

D’Amore then stooped over so that Slater, who is 19 years old, could sign the contract on his back.

In a brief press release, IMPACT described the contract as “long-term”.

IMPACT will revert to the ‘TNA’ brand at its Hard to Kill pay-per-view on January 14th.
