Takagi immediately wanted to know his next challenger and he got it.
Headlining NJPW Fighting Spirit Unleashed from Las Vegas, Nevada was Tama Tonga putting the NEVER Openweight Championship on the line against Shingo Takagi. The conclusion of the bout saw Takagi finishing off Tama Tonga to win the NEVER Title for a third time.
Post-match, Takagi spoke to the audience and also wanted to know who would be next up to challenge him for the championship. He waited for someone to come out but no one showed up, so Takagi continued his post-title win speech.
As he was about to exit the ring, a video message from AEW’s Trent aired and he called out Takagi for NJPW Lonestar Shootout on November 10th in Garland, Texas.
That event is also going to feature an IWGP Women’s Championship match. Mayu Iwatani is putting the title on the line against Stephanie Vaquer.
