D’Amore discusses the Gut Check winner.

While IMPACT Wrestling was touring the United Kingdom, they held Gut Check tryouts and on the final day, it was determined that Harley Hudson was the winner. With the win, Hudson secured herself a developmental contract and scholarship to train at the Can-Am Dojo in Canada with the likes of Josh Alexander, Chris Sabin and IMPACT World Champion Alex Shelley.

IMPACT President Scott D’Amore was one of the judges for the tryouts and while guest appearing on the WrestleSlam Podcast, D’Amore explained what made Hudson stand out. He thinks it probably won’t be too long before she joins the TNA roster.

Having Harley (Hudson) there and the opportunity presented to her. There was at least 20-to-30 people that were in the running that we could’ve looked at. When you looked at everything; looks, presentation, passion, athletic ability, wrestling ability and potential, I think it was all there so look forward to having her come to Canada. She’s got a scholarship to Can-Am Dojo where she’ll get to train with Josh Alexander, Chris Sabin, Alex Shelley, myself among others. I think she’s gonna do great at that and I think with that in mind, I think there’s probably a time in the not too distant future where you see her join Leon Slater on the TNA Wrestling roster.

Formally joining the TNA roster in 2024 will be the aforementioned Leon Slater. Slater was offered a contract after his bout with Frankie Kazarian on the U.K. tour. He signed his contract in the ring on D’Amore’s back.
