Kerry Morton: “I signed with the National Wrestling Alliance for a long time”

Morton inked a long-term deal with the organization.

The National Wrestling Alliance is coming off the heels of their Samhain pay-per-view on October 28th. One of the matches on the night was Kerry Morton and Alex Taylor taking on former NWA World Tag Team Champions The Headbangers (Mosh & Thrasher).

Going into that event, Morton joined the TWC Show. As he was speaking about the pressure that comes with being a third-generation wrestler, Morton mentioned that he signed with the NWA for a ‘long time’.

Well you know, there was my grandfather in the professional wrestling industry, my father and then myself being a third-generation wrestler… The pressure’s not there and here’s the thing and obviously, I got some big shoes to fill. But, at the end of the day, I’m my own man and that’s something that in professional wrestling, it is tough to stay relevant and stay on top of the food chain and that’s something that I edge at and think about every single day is staying on top of the food chain, in that highlighted spot, doing things that are out of the ordinary to be in this position and so, it’s there. It’s there most definitely but I try not to let it get to me. I try to think about what’s happening in the moment and how I can direct the future for even my path and professional wrestling is such a strange industry where you don’t know what is to come tomorrow. Like I said, nothing is ever guaranteed in professional wrestling and so, I don’t take that lightly and it’s something that you gotta think about and you gotta create and edge and yeah, I love it, I love the position I’m in right now. I signed with the National Wrestling Alliance for a long time because I believe in this company. I believe in what we’re doing. We’re not everyone’s cups of coffee and that’s okay, I accept it. I’m not, Kerry Morton is not everyone’s cup of coffee and that’s okay. That’s what professional wrestling is interpreted for. Opinions are meant to be heard whether you like me, you love me, you hate me, you wanna hurt me necessarily, I am still on the tip of your conversation. When you think of the National Wrestling Alliance, you think of the generation of superstars (that are) coming up and that’s how I like to think of it right now.

In addition to his on-screen role with the organization, Morton is a part of NWA’s marketing team.

I’ll just go ahead and say it on the air. I get the opportunity to help with NWA marketing a lot, outside of marketing the face of the company, Kerry Morton. I help market the other roster so to speak so, it’s really cool. I have a good time doing it. It’s something that keeps me very busy, extra income which is always great to have…

The next set of NWA Powerrr tapings are taking place November 4th and Morton will be present along with fellow members of Southern 6, Alex Taylor and ‘Thrillbilly’ Silas Mason.
