Omega is glad he’ll potentially have that outlet when wrestling can’t be there for him anymore.
In October, the first episode of the anime series, ‘Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix’ was released on Netflix. One of the voice actors in the series is former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega.
Alongside series creator Adi Shankar, Omega appeared on Busted Open Radio to discuss voicing his own character in the series. Omega stated that he’s glad to know that when wrestling can no longer be there for him, he’ll potentially have a presence in the video game and anime/voice acting world.
It really was (the perfect setup for me). Getting involved in things like this (Captain Laserhawk) is something I really wanted to do. So I try to stay active within the anime world and in the video game world and we’ve had a lot of success with some great crossover production and it’s a great thing to know that when wrestling can’t be there anymore for me, that, I will possibly have a presence within that world…
Omega was present on the 11/1 AEW Dynamite. After him and Chris Jericho scored a win over ‘Daddy Magic’ Matt Menard and Angelo Parker, they were approached by The Don Callis Family (Don Callis, Powerhouse Hobbs, Konosuke Takeshita & Kyle Fletcher).
The odds were evened when Omega stated that Kota Ibushi will be joining the fight and Chris Jericho introduced Paul Wight into the fold.
