Earlier on Wednesday, it had been reported that the Globe Theatre in Los Angeles, home to PWG events since 2018, was to close for good.
The announcement came via independent promotion Prestige Wrestling, which had planned a joint event at the venue with Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling.
On social media, Prestige Wrestling noted:
We were notified today that The Globe Theatre in Los Angeles will be closing for good immediately. We will be announcing a venue change ASAP for our joint show with Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling! All tickets will be honored & the show will still take place as planned.
The theatre opened in 1913. Its official website was no longer in service as of Wednesday morning, with visitors met with a notice reading, “Looks like this domain isn’t connected to a website yet.”
Official confirmation of the closure had not been given at the time of publication.
The venue has been host to PWG events since 2018, when the promotion moved from its previous home of the American Legion Hall in Reseda, California.
The Globe Theatre has also hosted events by promotions such as IMPACT/NJPW, including Multiverse United in March this year.
The last event that PWG held at the venue was its Mystery Vortex show in August. Last week, co-owner and booker Super Dragon announced that the promotion would not be running any shows for the remainder of the year.
