Multiple wXw title-holder Andreas Ullman, known in-ring as Absolute Andy, has passed away peacefully at 40 after a long illness.
Nuremberg-born Ullman debuted for wXw in 2005 and was a mainstay of the German promotion. During his career, he faced many high-profile names, including Bryan Danielson, Hiroshi Tanahashi, Jeff Jarrett, WALTER, and Tommy End (Malakai Black).
In March 2018, he won the wXw 16 Carat Gold tournament before going on to defeat Ilja Dragunov for the Unified World Wrestling Championship later that year.
His other accolades included holding the wXw World Heavyweight Championship and Shotgun Championship, as well as five reigns as a Tag Team Champion.
In a social media post on Saturday morning, wXw stated (translated):
We are saying goodbye to one of the most distinguished wrestlers in the history of wXw.
Absolute Andy is undoubtedly one of the most renowned and beloved wrestlers in the German-speaking world. In his career spanning almost 20 years, Absolute Andy clinched every major title in wXw. His accolades include winning the 16 Carat Gold, being the wXw Unified World Wrestling Champion, the wXw Shotgun Champion, a 5-time wXw World Tag Team Champion, and the wXw World Heavyweight Champion. Andy is unique in having all these titles on his resume.
Over 330 times, Andy laced up his boots for wXw, facing off against the elite in the ring. His roster of adversaries includes names like Bryan Danielson, Hiroshi Tanahashi, and Jeff Jarrett, as well as Walter, Ilja Dragunov, and Tommy End. His significant tag teams – Jay-AA, A-4, AbLas, and Champions of Champions – are part of our legacy.
The day before yesterday, Andy lost his lengthy battle with illness and passed away peacefully in the presence of his wife. We send our deepest sympathies to his family and friends during this difficult time. We request that you respect their privacy until we can all come together in the wXw ring to pay tribute to Andy, honoring his remarkable life and career.
Crushed to hear of the passing of Absolute Andy.
I remember Andy’s first wrestling camp in the Sauerland & I had the privilege to share the ring with him many times after.
Andy was always a friendly face, always worked his ass off & meant a lot to a lot of people. RIP my friend https://t.co/mwSmtUhGuO

Andy is one of the most important people in my wrestling career. He taught and helped me so much while I was in @wXwGermany, way more than he ever knew.
One of the greatest and most caring people I’ve ever met.
