MJF plans to remind everyone who he is at Worlds End.
Next up on the docket for AEW World Champion MJF is a title defense against Samoa Joe at Worlds End on December 30th. Coming out of the 12/27 Dynamite, it was revealed that Joe has been working with ‘The Devil’ that is targeting MJF. Joe’s affiliation with said entity cost MJF the ROH World Tag Team Titles.
MJF touched on some of the criticism and critiques he’s been on the receiving end of and stated that he understands it. He told Comicbook.com that he thinks people hold him to a high standard because they know what he’s capable of. He added that he’s going to remind everyone what he’s capable of at Worlds End.
I think one big thing I want to say is for everybody who fell in love with me, I understand the criticisms. I understand the critiques. I think the reason that people criticize me more now than ever is because they hold me to a higher standard. Because they know what I’m capable of. On December 30th, I’m going to remind people exactly what the f*ck I’m capable of and I’m going to do it with a smile on my face.
He was asked if the original plan for Worlds End was him versus CM Punk in an AEW World Title unification match. MJF kept his response short and said it was never a thing.
Was never a thing. Next question (MJF responded when asked if Worlds End was going to feature AEW World Title unification match between himself & CM Punk).
