The first AEW Collision of 2024 saw a drop to its lowest viewership over the past month while airing against a big NFL game.

The January 6 edition from Charlotte averaged 402,000 viewers and 174,000 (0.13) in the 18-49 demographic, per Wrestlenomics and Sports Media Watch.

There was no episode of Collision the previous week due to the Worlds Ends pay-per-view but this week’s audience was down by 18% from the December 23 episode and decreased by 17% among the 18-49 audience.

The show was airing against the Houston Texans vs. Indianapolis Colts game on both ABC & ESPN, which combined for an average viewership of 19,647,000 and over 6.2 million in the 18-49 demographic.

This was Collision’s lowest figures since November 25 when they aired against the WWE Survivor Series.

Compared with the December 23 episode, Collision dropped by 32% among Adults 18-34 and fell by 9% with Adults 35-49. In the 35-49 demo, there was growth among women from 23,000 to 36,000 this week.

The show was highlighted by a main event involving FTR against Malakai Black & Buddy Matthews and included Sting’s final match in Charlotte as he teamed with Darby Allin against The Workhorsemen, which wasn’t announced until the night before.

This Saturday’s episode of Collision will be part of a three-hour block of programming on TNT with Battle of the Belts IX airing right after Collision.
