Kota Ibushi has provided an update on his various injuries, stating that a ligament in his right leg is completely torn.

In a post on X, the 41-year-old added that his right leg was in a cast and he had to decide what to do about his left side.

Furthermore, he said his shoulder was also banged up and that he would take time out to rehab all his injuries fully.

He stated (OpenAI translation):

Apologies for the delayed update. It seems that my ligament was completely torn (and another area was already quite weak). My leg has been fully immobilized in a cast up to my knee. Now, I need to decide what to do about my left side, while my right side requires treatments every two weeks. My shoulder isn’t in perfect condition either, so I plan to use this time to fully fix everything. I’m sorry for any inconvenience caused. Moving forward, I have a lot to think about and decisions to make.

On January 7th, Ibushi revealed that he was set for right ankle surgery after his match against Naomichi Marufuji in the main event of NOAH The New Year 2024.

Pro Wrestling NOAH noted that the veteran had been diagnosed with a tibiofibular ligament rupture and suffered additional damage to the lateral ligaments in the same ankle.
