NEVER Openweight Title match, El Desperado vs. SHO added to NJPW The New Beginning in Sapporo

Two matches added to the show lineup. 

Newly crowned NEVER Openweight Champion is EVIL is going to be defending his championship on the NJPW New Beginning tour. 

His next challenger will be Shota Umino and their title bout is taking place on February 23rd in Sapporo. 

In addition to that, El Desperado is going one-on-one with SHO. As of this writing, here’s the updated February 23rd card: 

  • Tomoya & Toru Yano vs. TBA & TBA
  • Los Ingobernables de Japon (BUSHI, Hiromu Takahashi, Yota Tsuji, Shingo Takagi & Tetsuya Naito) vs. Just 5 Guys (TAKA Michinoku, DOUKI, Yuya Uemura, Taichi & SANADA)
  • El Desperado vs. SHO
  • NEVER Openweight Championship: EVIL (c) vs. Shota Umino
  • NJPW World Television Championship: Hiroshi Tanahashi (c) vs. Matt Riddle
  • IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship: David Finlay (c) vs. Nic Nemeth
