Sting’s final appearance on the weekly AEW TV program Dynamite is being promoted for next week.
AEW’s Tony Khan posted Friday that the February 28 episode of Dynamite from Huntsville, Alabama will be “Sting’s Final Dynamite.”
“This Wednesday, co-holder of the AEW World Tag Team Championship Sting makes his final appearance on TBS after 36 iconic years on top,” the post from Khan reads.
Khan later explained that Sting may appear on AEW in the future, although next week will mark the final time he’s in the promotion as an active wrestler.
“He may stop by in the future to say hello to the AEW fans from time to time, but after next week, we all have to face the reality, it’s over, Sting is retiring after AEW Revolution and this is his last appearance as a professional wrestler,” he said.
Sting’s illustrious multi-decade career in wrestling will come to an official end at AEW’s Revolution pay-per-view on March 3 when he wrestles his last match. Alongside Darby Allin, Sting will put his AEW tag team titles on the line against The Young Bucks duo of Matthew and Nicholas Jackson.
