A legendary WWE talent that has rarely been on television will return next week
Rey Mysterio has been announced for next week’s episode of WWE Smackdown from the FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tennessee.
Mysterio ended his months-long absence from competition. Mysterio returned on last week’s Smackdown, helping Carlito beat Escobar.
Mysterio’s most recent in-ring appearance was last November when he dropped his United States Championship to Logan Paul at Crown Jewel. Mysterio was then written off TV during an episode of Smackdown following the title loss, with Escobar — a supposed ally of Mysterio who allegedly helped Paul win the title — attacking him.
Shortly after that match, Mysterio received surgery for a torn meniscus in his right knee.
Also announced for next week’s Smackdown is a grudge match between Bayley and Damage CTRL’s Dakota Kai.
