Mercedes and Riho met on Mercedes’ first night at AEW.
It has been several weeks since Mercedes Moné’s arrival to AEW at the ‘Big Business’ edition of Dynamite in her hometown of Boston, Massachusetts.
In addition to her introduction segment, Moné was shown in a backstage segment with Riho and after Riho’s main event match against Willow Nightingale, Moné made a run-in and stopped Skye Blue and TBS Champion Julia Hart’s post-match attack.
Riho guest appeared on Kenny Omega’s Twitch stream and spoke about meeting Mercedes. She was excited to do so and wants to wrestle her. Riho also touched on their on-screen interaction. Omega gave the following translation of what Riho said:
So, Riho was saying she was actually really excited to meet and wrestle Mercedes Moné and she said that she was actually able to meet her at the arena but you know, the first altercation with her for that handshake was on camera. So she’s wondering… was it a sign of respect or was it her character? She’s got this mysterious feeling towards her and she’s hoping that eventually they will be able to meet more in a one-on-one, in-ring capacity.
Mercedes was on commentary on the 3/27 Dynamite and watched Willow Nightingale secure a TBS Title match at the Dynasty pay-per-view.
