Ideas that Omega considered in good fun.

The latest Kenny Omega Twitch stream took place on March 29th. Omega was live on his channel for just over two hours and during the stream, he talked about the idea of doing a celebrity boxing fight.

One of the names suggested as an opponent was Xavier Woods. Omega believes it would be a good fight.

Who knows though? Maybe in a Triller card, somewhere in the future, I’ll be celebrity boxing someone. I don’t know. We’ll find out, who knows? So if I was to take a real boxing match, who would you like to see me fight? Any wrestlers you think I might be able to fight in a real boxing match?

Creed (Xavier Woods). Actually, you know what? Creed, I honestly — it would be a good match. I actually think that’d be a really good match… But in an actual shoot boxing match. I think it’d be a good fight. I think it really would be. That’d be actually really good. I wouldn’t wanna hit him though. I hate him, I don’t wanna hit him. I hate his guts but I don’t wanna hit the guy (Omega jokingly said). I don’t think he wants to hit me either. I don’t think it’s like that. I don’t think it’s like that.

He added that he thinks it’d be good content-wise to do a grappling match against Demetrious Johnson, the reigning ONE Flyweight Champion and first-ever UFC Flyweight Champion.

Omega reiterated that it’d be just for fun and he would not be trying to prove anything by doing it. He said he just likes to challenge himself.

A wrestling match against Demetrious (Johnson)? You know what? I was actually, honestly, I thought for fun, for fun! It might be cool for content if I had a competitive grappling match against Demetrious. None of us would get hurt. Obviously, if someone got something, we would tap right away. But I think it’d be a fun little (thing) and honestly, if you’ve seen Demetrious compete at all, my height, my weight, my power advantage would mean nothing. He’s literally just come off of defeating someone who I believe was 6’5 and 250 pounds in a competitive jiu-jitsu match. So, I feel that if I were serious about this, I would actually have to brush up and train just to follow along because Demetrious is fast and his wrestling is incredible and his jiu-jitsu gets better and better every time I see him so, I mean, it’d be for fun. I’m not trying to win, I’m not trying to say I’d be better than him. I just like challenging myself in these sort of things. I don’t know. I think it’d be fun, and plus, I beat his ass so bad in Street Fighter, maybe I should give him something that he can actually beat me in, maybe! Maybe. I don’t know.

Omega is out of action and has been sidelined since December. He shared that he underwent ’emergency treatment’ and was not sure if he would need to undergo surgery.
